How did you score when you took your first practice GMAT? I just took my first practice exam a 640, with almost no review/study before hand. I'm interested in understanding how this compares against others who ultimately scored 700+

I have about 3 months to study before I write the real thing and am just trying to get a sense what a reasonable expecations should be for a range of final scores

Manhattan prep and a week off from work to study 6 hrs a day took me to 710 for my first try. Your cold score doesn’t mean much imo because the gmat test format is something you’ve most likely never experienced before (timing, data sufficiency, and the fact that you can’t revisit questions). Once you get used to those things by taking practice tests and doing timed questions your score will increase dramatically.

First practice test (no prep): 720

Mid-400s (free Economist test). Had no idea what the GMAT was but knew it was needed for MBA so thought I'd get a feel for the type of questions... Don't worry, came good in the end.

I studied for 3 weeks and got a 670 practice, couple months of studying later got a real 740 after multiple 760/770 practice tests. You should be just fine with enough studying

I’m doing the same. Did you find that there were similar questions on the actual GMAT to the OG ones?

640 is good. My first (with a little bit of studying) was a 490, ended up with a 690.

650 without studying, 740 after ~120 hours of studying

Yeah, you’ll def end up 700+ with that first practice score. Just be consistent and study hard for the next three months. Very very easy to do it.

I went from 660 to 760 in one month. I knew the content but needed to learn/practice test strategies and timing.

TTP Quant and OG was great for me.

First practice: 590
Final score: 760

I scored the same as u on my cold / no practice test, did TTP for 2-3 months and got a 750

like

I got a 640 taking it cold. Studied 2-3 months, was hitting 750-760 on OG tests, wound up with a 730 on the real thing

Strongly recommend E-gmat. 2 months of prep helped me from 700 - 760.

Ok so. I have been on this journey for almost a year now to try and 'get to know and love myself' and I'm not there yet. I separated from my ex in March of 2020 and divorce was finalized in October 2020. I want to be happy alone before I meet anyone new. Any tips or advice on how I can effectively accomplish this? Thank you!
