Nothing really changes depending on where you work. You’ll get a bit more preference and choice in project than a jr or intern, but if your shop is small and there aren’t many people below you then nothing will really change other than your title and hopefully salary.

You follow their direction until you’re the CD/GCD, then you follow the CCOs direction. And he follows the global CCOs direction. Who follows the whims of the board.
You do. But also your responsibilities grow, and your CDs would trust you with more. You’d be leading creative presentations and managing work with studio, suppliers and designers with much less direction from your CDs.

I follow my CD/ECD’s decision. But they let me oversee designers and photoshoots at one point. Covid happened so haven’t had any since.
I found I had less oversight from my CD. I no longer had to have explicit approval for every single tiny thing. My CD started trusting me and my partner to handle most projects with some minor check ins unless it was a TV spot or something we hadn’t done before.
I found the feedback also got vaguer. In part because they start trusting your decisions more and partially because you’re expected to just figure it out on your own more often.
