I feel like I should leave my boutique strategy consulting firm, but no one will match my pay. 4 yoe. I feel like an MBA should be next, but then I would have to take a $100k pay cut at mbb or any company after paying $$$ in tuition and $$$$$ in lost income. Has anyone ever dealt with golden handcuffs?
I haven’t even finished the final round with the company and they are asking my passport for visa purpose already…why do rush? (Not in the states) Also I am in the process with mbb.

How do you handle when one Big 4 firm is trying to move really quickly through the interview process but I am also progressing through the process with an MBB as well that I really want to see through to the end. At the end of the day I don’t want to lose the Big 4 firm if MBB doesn’t come through.

Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad

Have you noticed different MBB Business Units treating candidates poorly? I.e. BCGs Gamma and Platinum will ghost candidates for weeks, while their Core BCG counterparts are handheld through process?
MBB manager vs FAANG product: pros and cons? I was excited about the perks in consulting but with all of them gone (and likely we’ll never go back to the glamorous lifestyle fully), product roles that I earlier said no to seem lucrative.

Wife and kid are going to be out of town for the next 2 weeks. Instead of wasting time, I’d like to do something productive. What would you do if you have say 3+ hours a day. Maybe self help, wealth creation type books, work out daily, take care of some things around the house.

Is it possible to become a project manager in industry after a year in the analyst role (HC) at Deloitte? All of my projects have utilized an agile approach, and I have taken classes/trainings recognized by PMI. My long term goal is to become a program manager, so I want to start at the project level. Any tips? Or places that hire PMs without the title of “project manager”?
