How difficult is it to pivot from one area of consulting to another? Like say I was in data science consulting and I wanted to transfer to stratgey and operations consulting. Is that rather difficult or not? Any different between internal transfers and changing firms?

Depends on your goal, scandidature, skillset, rigor, and current manager (for internal transfer) in my opinion.

If you're able to present yourself as a competitive and deserving candidate, ans properly justify the need and requirement for pivoting to the the new company and role, there's no one stopping you from doing that.

However, if it's an internal transfer, it sure does depend on your current team and it's manager, new team and it's manager, and their understanding.

I’m not sure if this happens to you, I’m constantly intimidated and feel judged by white men and women and/or people born in the US for having a strong foreign accent in the US. Nobody says that to my face, but I can see it in people’s actions. This has severely affected my confidence and I focus more on the way I pronounce some words rather than the content. How do I battle this situation? Would definitely like both perspectives.

I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.

I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.

Any advice or similar experience?

So I had a first interview this past Friday at a company that I had previously interviewed with and made it to the final round last month. They decided to go with an internal candidate after it came down to me and him. The current role is more senior, and was one I was asked to apply for by the hiring manager, whom I also met with during the last set of interviews. I emailed the recruiter to f/u on Friday and still have not gotten a reply. Should I be concerned?
