It's as difficult as people say unf, because it's very test-taker success oriented. Lots of wordy questions and such. Are you a good test taker in general?

If you prepare well you will do well, but yes it can be hard for you if you're not a natural-born test taker.

I recently moved into a new place that has windows with metal frames. I noticed that now in the winter months since it's cold outside the window frames have a lot of condensation and everything is soaked. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this normal or should I be telling like the building management about it? I'm scared that it might ruin the wood and paint around the area.

Hey everyone, French here. I’ve been coding for my all life (10-15 years) and have 6 YEO professionally (without internships). I feel like to move on in my career by upgrading to a SE/SA path. I always love problem solving and I am obsessed with detail. I don’t have any opportunity in my current company, so I am wondering where I should start to make the transition. What skills do I need? I feel like needing more responsibilities and having a valuable job.
Also, any ref?

Thanks everyone!

My background is in tech transactional. I joined a cybersecurity SaaS startup at the end of last year and now also handle more generalist matters in addition to all things commercial-related. I have a number of books on contracts that I’ve found super helpful over the years (The Tech Contracts Handbook, A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting, Sign Here, etc.). Can anyone recommend books they’ve found helpful for L&E matters, privacy matters, product matters, or marketing/advertising matters?

How well do you take compliments or words of recognition?

Growing up, receiving verbal recognition and praise was just .. not a thing. In my current 1:1s with my manager, he's recognizing and thanking me for all I'm doing since I joined 2 months ago - I say thank you but then self-sabatoge after by saying something I think I'm disrupting the team on. He never brings it up or agree to those comments.

How should one respond aside from "thank you"? Do I say smthg nice abt him or the team?

Not too sure how I feel about working on mainframes (Z systems) but they keep pitching hybrid cloud to me. IBM

I am interviewing for cloud9 who happens to be a software that some of our traders use in our firm right now, it means we are their client/customer. Was just curious if there is ever a clause where companies should not be recruiting people from their clients?

All, this is my first post and I just want to share that I passed the first Amazon interview for Technical Program Manager and am heading to on-site virtual interviews! I have 20 years of corporate tech in a traditional F500 company (top 50). The only thing I can say that I like about my current job is the work-life balance and some of the people. But the work itself is soul crushing and the industry is stagnant. To those who are 40+ years old, is it crazy to change now?

When it comes to your job search:

1) How often/much do you get feedback from recruiters or whoever you just spoke with? Feels like we're always in the dark. One way feedback street.

2) Who do you like to work with? Headhunters vs internalrecruiters? Is the experience different?

3) Have you had to align your interviews so that the offers would come in close/same day? What's your strategy?

4) What's your process in weighing [multiple] offers? If that ever happens? Where do you keep your notes?
