How difficult would it be to find a brown person who would wanna adopt kids instead of having our own? Most guys I talk to are understandably not very open to that idea but wanted to see if people on this bowl would be open to it. This can help me determine if it’s possible. Please comment if you would be up for it and your gender and age. Thank you 😊

Male, 32 here. I’m all for adoption but my wife isn’t.

Married male and am all for adoption especially as I have two boys and now want a girl :) Wife isn't on board at all.

Many of my friends want to do it but are unable due to visa challenges.

M, 31: I want to adopt, but my fiancée isn’t cool with the idea. Not even as a second child.

We want to have 1 of our own and would also like to adopt 1 once visa issues are resolved . 34F and husband is cool with the idea.

30F, i hear ya. Good luck finding a guy who wants to adopt though!

like

35F, we have one biological and started the process to adopt one. We are excited about it. Either parents aren’t onboard. Biggest hurdle is to adopt from India while you are based in US.

40, M, No

33M - have my own kids. I am not for adoption.

For more context - what’s your driver behind adoption and nor birthing? This isn’t a straightforward scenario and everyone has their own reasons. What’s yours?

Understood and it makes sense. Completely agree with your thought process but I think our society (Indian I mean) hasn’t moved that forward yet, specially our parents. And, I think you get the drift from the responses on this post as well. However, you sure will find men who’ll be willing to go 1+1.

M, 32, one of my own, one adopted. Curious why do you not want to have kids

31M. Adoption will not be my first option. If we cannot have children then May be yes.

35,F. always wanted to have 2 kids - adopt 1 kid and give birth to the other

A child is a major responsibility. Fine with either option. I have two biological children but would adopt one if I had the resources and time.

Hi Moms! You guys have been a great resource for me throughout pregnancy. This is my 2nd baby. First was a c-section, and for this one I’m ctrying for a VBAC. I’m at 38 weeks, so baby is coming any day now. Any tips for labor and delivery? I’ve been doing research and taken classes, but would love any guidance you can offer. Also, let me know if there are any must have post-partum items I have to get for a vaginal delivery.

I put in my two weeks about a week and a half ago. Upon putting in my two weeks, I immediately told all my managers so we can start planning for transition. They all sat on it and now I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to transition work. I kinda want to push back because I'm super overwhelmed and I honestly don't know how I'll get through everything they want me to do without working the whole weekend. I am just being a big baby? Or ideas of how to push back?

LA vs San Diego? Can someone tell me the pros and cons of each city? I want to move to the west coast in the next year or so and debating between the two cities. San Diego looks like a beautiful city but seems to lack diversity from what I heard. Some background on me: late 20s, I’m black & latina, single, I have a puppy, I’m from NY but currently live in Boston, vegan, pretty active, people person but also enjoy a good amount of time to myself. Thanks in advance!

My husband and I have concert tickets to a big outdoor festival that was cancelled for covid and is now happening in late August. His brothers and some college friends are flying in to stay with us. We just found out we're pregnant and I'll be 9 weeks by concert time. We aren't ready to tell anyone but we can't think how we can ask them to cancel without explaining. We are all vaccinated and are in SF so cases are low, but not zero. Any advice?

So we're in a pre-bid meeting with a client right now and we're creating a spot that was supposed to feature a diverse collection of body parts. The head client interrupted and basically said her consumers are 80% Caucasian so she does not think we should show lgbtq or people with disabilities and she stopped just short of saying 'too many black people'. She quoted how polarised the country is, implying that seeing diversity in an ad would polarise her white audience. I am livid. Idk what to do

Mothers who have left their husbands in the first year of their first child’s life - talk to me about why you did it, whether there was a “straw that broke the camel’s back” and how you feel about everything now in retrospect. I really need some help thinking through this. I haven’t talked to anyone about it, and I don’t want to be rash.

Shout out to all the mommies/single parents in PA! I recently lost my mother and balancing 60 hr work weeks while home schooling a 9 yr old and making decent “healthy” meals is hella hard. And I only deal with her part-time, I can’t imagine what it’s like with kids on a full-time basis. I don’t see many people address this, but the stress is real when you don’t want to let down your boss and your family at the same time.
