How did you break into Product management ?

I’ve been applying to Associate Product Management roles for 2 years(over 400 applications), and only got 3 interviews .

I’ve worked as an Operations M, Sn Sales representative and recently a Project M.

I’ve done side projects , tailored my resume, connected with recruiters , for all that time I’ve been expanding my knowledge, getting Google UX design certification and Product Management specialization courses .

2 years later, I’m still looking.

Someone less than 1 year of experience earns $69k. I’m also PHR certified and have 5+ years of progressive experience in all functions of HR. Apparently IAPP had a webinar this week on hiring in the privacy field. My mentee and a few law students I know all watched and it sounds like a lot of the advice was pretty bad. I wish IAPP would tailor things for attorneys versus compliance, consulting, engineers, etc. I feel like they are doing such a disservice to everyone by trying to cater to all audiences at once.

Disclaimer - not a typical post for this bowl. Wanted to understand more about the mental health services at Google (I already read the high level info on the onboarding portal).
