How do I ask for a raise? I teach two subjects, AP Literature and Composition and a College Planning course for 12th graders. I read all 12th grade college essays, show students how to apply to private and public schools, show them how to fill out applications, apply for scholarships and check off that all 93 students have applied to public and private schools. I only make $58,000 a year and I believe the work I do deserves more compensation. How can I formally ask for a raise and justify?

Perhaps you could change school districts.

Are you in a public, private, or charter school?

Charter

This is one reason why there is a teacher shortage today. Overworked and underpaid teachers

Your union should be negotiating that every year.
An alternative is to check salary schedules (public info) and switch districts if it makes sense.

A week ago, I started with a fairly new position within a company designed for fresh grads. I graduated with an MBA early this year. Today I found out that this company just opened up a new initiative for MBAs, and is offering a 6 fig salary. What is the best way to convey to the management that my skills and education would be an ideal match for their new position?

My father is an accredited investor and invests in private companies. I said I’d give him $50k for one of the investments but technically it’s all in his name. 3x return. Any way to touch that money without double taxation (expecting to pay his highest tax bracket on the returns since shorter than 1 year and then gift tax above $30k)? Thinking about asking him to put it in a separate bank account in his name linked to my credit card - but still likely too much money to burn through.

How much math/stats is needed to switch from Data Analyst to Data Scientist?

I am currently a Data Analyst who is proficient at Tableau, SQL, and Basic Python.

I did my undergrad 4 yrs ago, where I took Calculus 1-2 (integral Calculus), Intro Probability/Stats + Econometrics.

To be honest my knowledge of math and stats has faded, so was thinking of enrolling in community college to take Calc 1-4 (up to differential) + linear algebra and more Stats.

Any thoughts or guidance?

I received an offer from pwc for 39 L ( fixed - no variable pay is mentioned )

Can you please let me know how much of variable pay can I expect to get?

Is that connected to performance rating only ?
