How do I automate an import of data?
Everyday we get a fresh set of data in an excel file.
It has certain columns of info that we need to pull into our template, I basically do a copy paste every day. The number of rows may vary from day to day so need to make sure to grab all data from all rows.

Create a query to a file and then overwrite the file every day?

This ^ if you receive the file by email set up a MS flow/power automate to move the file to a set location and rename so it’s the same each time. Then build a power query sources from the file and you’re done.

If the way you format the data is the same, you could create an import formula and then record a macro to adjust it and make it presentable.

How about if the data source is from a workbook sent from the client via email? Any way to automate that? (i.e. questions list sent to client, goal is to pull in any updated responses into master file)

Hey guys, did you ever encounter the following problem & know a solution:
Whenever I reference another tab in any given formula in my model, XLS first calculates everything as it should be. However directly afterwards (or sometimes only after saving) the formula vanishes and only the resulting value is left. Hence, all automation etc in the xls does not work.

Any ideas what's happening and how I can solve it without rebuilding the whole model?

Not sure where this post belongs because I don’t think it’s an excel solution, but I want to be able to pull data from various direct datafeeds (and be able to pull in reports from say excel as well).

Once I get all the data in the same place I want to make sure all the data looks the same before I begin manipulating it (consolidating/mapping fields essentially)

What’s the right software to do this? Is it as simple as having direct feeds integrated with Access or is it something else entirely?

Hey all, for VBA what would the code be for searching for a specific value in column A and once that value is found go to the next row, do a loop that basically copies and pasted that value into Column C, the next row would then be copied and pasted in column D, then next to E, F, and G then back to C…. Until another specific value is found?

Hi guys!

I need help with something: I recently started using xlookup in excel to automate recurring tasks (accounting) but I have found that my peers and supervisors have difficulties understanding how the numbers are pulled, which makes their understanding of the files difficult.

What would be the best way to convert the result of an xlookup cell to a reference to the found cell?

Is there any way that could be applied to all the xlookups in an excel file?

Thanks in advance!!
