Hi everyone, I have 2 years of experience in a service based industry as a Java developer, and I am eager to work hard and switch to a reputed product based organisation, but I am not getting proper time to study and practice data structures and algorithms, as I have so much to learn and understand things which are related to my project. Any suggestions would be appreciated and I'll try to inculcate it. Thanks in advance! Amazon Oracle Samsung Microsoft Cisco Salesforce Arcesium Uber

Could apply to ones in your area. Had a coworker break into it with who never did any accounting but did capital market ops.
There are a few FA vacancies at where I work. I could give you a referral. Most of the FA YOE is 2 years for the vacancies and I think you will fit in pretty well with your background.
Thanks so much for the offer! I will definitely consider it. I’m actually in the Stamford CT area, so this may work for me!
I have an employment gap > 1 year and resigned from IA to heal from burnout (probably long overdue after 6 busy seasons) and now feel healthy again (did tons of cardio/biking and my sleep/heart health is great) and want to pursue a Financial analyst role. How difficult would this transition be? Reasons for pursing FA: I like strategy, being a value add, analysis, excel/sql, have never done financial modeling but seems pretty easy from online courses, and am also very confident with presenting to clients/executives. Also my personality is more intuitive and forward looking/big picture guy. I liked auditing/clients but can’t see myself being an accountant bc I expect I won’t feel stimulated and will get burnt out by JEs/month end close. I’m looking for corporate finance, not banking.
Network. CFA. MBA. - all 3 of these can get you in. I had to goto a smaller city an hour away to break into high finance.
I have a heavy accounting background mixed with an asset management background.
Reach out to recruiters. It really helped me big time when I switched to finance. You can also start with the companies near your area.
This is what I would suggest as well. Start networking with recruiters over on Linked in. That is the best way to get your foot in the door.
