Hello! I’m a SE, and been doing it professionally for around 3 years, no college education or anything, im only 21 and I accepted an offer at a company on november 2021, the offer was for a salary of 116,000 plus a 10-15% yearly bonus. Obviously i have all the other benefits like insurance, after browsing fishbowl I found so many other people doing the same job but getting paid in some cases double than me. so, I am being under paid? or maybe are these especial cases of people making a lot?
I like to think of a review as both you and your manager reviewing one another. Lol. I would definitely start out by saying just that, your scope of work has expanded beyond what you initially agreed upon and now you believe that the compensation no longer aligns with that. Do some market research and suggest what you think would be an appropriate raise.
Woohoo!!! Congratulations!!
Just be honest. Lay out the facts and base your argument on evidence not simply that you want more money. Since your scope has expanded so much, mention that and maybe other job titles that you have been covering for while working in your position. Don't sugarcoat it or make yourself small when you ask, stand tall.
I got the raise💓
Thank you!!
