Hi ladies. I work in IT consulting and we don’t typically have to put notes in for billable hours, but a few weeks ago my boss asked me to start entering notes, about what exactly I was working on for client A,B,and C. I just said sure and didn’t ask why. I found out today from other colleagues that no one else was asked to enter notes in for their time. What’s a good way to ask my boss why the new change? I’d at least like to know if I did something wrong so I can improve.

Would love advice on how to approach a junior staffer I manage. She’s about 4-5 years out of college and overall a nice person but has a major ego. She thinks her work is perfect, but she consistently misunderstands asks, forgets the role of each client and produces either sloppy or incomplete work. We have two one on ones a week where I go through client priorities & feedback with her on top of our team meetings. She is continually getting worse, but leadership won’t roll her off. WWYD?

Similar comp structure but could live in LCOL in the remote position. Debating career impacts of being remote and non client facing (especially if transitioning to IB in short-mid term) vs financial incentives of little to no rent.

What will happen if one puts down paper during bench period/ on the process of assignation to another project at HCL? Do they need to serve 3 moths of notice period or can they be released early?

So, a spot I made (concept to completion) got shelved due to COVID forcing the client’s marketing plan to change. During that time, my partner and I were laid off.
