How is Big 4 client delivery experience (cyber) + credible technical skillsets/ experience viewed in Google during interviews process? Good/ bad/ null?
Trying to roll off from current project and a partner promised to pull me into his next project. The thing is the client has been reviewing the contract for over a month. Should I network for another?
I'm a glorified assistant. I take meeting minutes & we use my computer to present status updates. The client hosts reoccurring meetings with no agenda and I get 💩 on for my note taking skills..wtf
What type of project management tools do you use to make project timelines ( I have a Mac)
Lots of us are skilled at delivery but most sales books seem to focus on the pitch and closing... What are your best resources for learning to develop and nurture strong, lasting client relationships?
Has anyone come across this thing from the client playbook that insists on never using negative words like "don't" or "never" or "can't" in headlines or taglines? So something like "You're not yourself when you're hungry" would be dismissed outright. Who's teaching them this narrow-mindedness?
*Spits up coffee all over myself on client site*
I’m on the bench and got a very bad sunburn while beachside yesterday. There is an optional meeting in-office tomorrow that would be valuable for me to go to, but I look fried. Suggestions?
My former PM actually told me he rolled off my team because I wouldn't reschedule my PTO. I had this PTO scheduled since June. Another person took 3 weeks of PTO and she was retained. Unethical?
I know junior associates feel the pain of being micromanaged and told exactly what to do all the time, but honestly, enjoy it while it lasts. It’s a whole new kind of pain when the partner ignores all your emails, never forwards you or copies you to keep you in the loop, never tells you what to do, and still gets mad at you when you are “behind”, or “get it wrong” or ask client/other side for something that partner got 3 weeks ago but never forwarded to you. 😂😭
Why do managers ask you to do shit after you’ve already rolled off their engagement? Like bro I have a whole different engagement to worry about I don’t have time for you
Associate here. Had a director who was a hardcore feminist, to the point where she blamed client unhappiness on their hatred towards female professionals and sought for all-female teams...
Have you guys ever joined a client’s townhall?
Grateful for my support system. I burst into tears during a zoom call with a project leader today. He said the sweetest thing anyone ever said to me in years. A quick catch-up turned into a therapy session.
Working at 9PM while on the bench.
Amazing leaders, I have been facing some resistance from our offshore offices and need some guidance. Context, I am an Indian and been working in US and Basel for many years now. My offshore office in India is all men (similar to my US and Singapore office), however the moment they realize I am Indian, their attitude towards me changes drastically. For example, the team leader in India office (also 10 years older to me) in a global conference call said that the project needs more experience cont
On the bench for two days = gym, pool, and orange crushes. Zero complaints. Never take these days for granted!
I've been extended 6 times on a project and have been in the same sort of role for about 12 months. I've told the manager I'd like to leave, but I found out I might be extended again..
How much do Accenture first year consultants make? Assume a 2 YOE out of undergrad. Would you stay at KPMG or leave for Accenture if Accenture was giving close to a 30% raise?
Promotion year and looking for advice on how to keep track of the overall status of the audit (methods, tools, etc), what level of detail a mgr should know, and any other advice on proj management
What’s the difference between MBB and Deloitte? For example, at Deloitte I’ve done 5 tech implementations/transformations. Is MBB mostly strategy and more interaction with client and their c suites?
Currently mid twenties, and trying to take financing more seriously and would really appreciate some insight on how to allocate my income into savings! Make about roughly 70k a year (post-tax, no pre-tax contributions). I spent about $3,350 a month (~40k a year on rent, car loan, bills etc), so I have about roughly 30k to save annually. Obviously putting 6k into roth ira, and I need help with insight on how to allocate he remaining 24k between Roth 401k, emergency fund, personal saving, etc.
RIP my bank account 😓. Pay deferral program just kicked in. Any budget tips people can recommend to cut short term spending (other than going out to eat and dropping Starbucks. Haven’t done much of that since WFH started).
Does anyone here hold a non-CFA designation (CFP, CAIA, FRM etc.) and what kind of role/position do you have?
I'm stressed out of my mind trying to weigh if R1 2021 is going to be way more competitive than R3 2020. If it's between applying now with no gmat vs 2021 with 700+, which would you bet on?
I’m graduating pn 12/18 and I’m looking for an entry level account, social media, or general brand marketing roles in NYC. Open to advice + suggestions + bonus points for anyone willing to refer!
What should I do with my 401k if I am leaving Deloitte? The fund my 401k is in has a very low fee of .01%, so I would like to leave it, but I can’t find any info on if there will be larger fees after I leave.
Had my global entry interview almost a month ago and it shows on the site that my interview has not been completed...usual government slowness or should I reach out to someone? Who would I contact?
Ladies, I have a dilemma. I know the choice is ultimately mine, but I wanted some input. I met my current boyfriend through my cousin and he lives in Chicago. The plan was for me to move to Chicago in the next couple of months. I planned on just continuing my job with PwC. However, I was applying for jobs in NYC and just received and offer for a company I’ve always wanted to work for. I feel like I’m going to have to make a choice between my job and my relationship. What would you do?
Currently considering offers from 2 big 4 firms for entry level audit opportunities. I’m a bit concerned about the burn out that everybody’s talking about in PA. Any advice on how to avoid it or at least minimize the effects?
Dark lip hair…any long term solutions? Tried laser but it did nothing (might have actually made it worse). Sick of bleaching or using depilatory creams. Open to any ideas!
