She gets cash, puts it in an attaché case. You hire a courier to pick it up, make the trip and hand deliver it to you. So romantic!
Interested. How would you do the cripto piece? Is there a ww platform that could be used?
Venmo is not an option as it does not exist in most countries

Just curious, is your future wife a Nigerian princess and is she asking for your bank info?
Bitcoin. Seriously.
Guys this is tax fraud

What’s your future wife’s number?
She is a real person right? She exists, correct?
Of course she exists, OP is just gonna first send her $10,000 that she needs while her $100,000 is locked up and then she’ll return $100,000 to OP
This is like a Reverse Nigerian princess story 😂

Have her transfer to it your account. Maybe two transactions of 50k. Description will say 2yr 0.5% private loan. When you get married. She writes off any interest accrued and forgives the debt.
Not sure. I think schwab may be limited, but have never really checked. I have just heard others mention it
I don’t understand the question. What is stopping her from gifting you the money. There may be a gift tax form to file, I don’t remember for sure, but she should be able to gift you the money and you could do with it what you want
I had looked this up before & just found it again, you’re right it depends on amount - https://www.irs.gov/businesses/gifts-from-foreign-person. Only if it exceeds $100,000 in a tax year (from an individual) do you need to report. OP could easily work with (by filing) or even around this by splitting up the gifts this year & next.
Ok so I’m not a finance person so there’s probably something important I’m not thinking of. But why can’t you open a joint bank account, she deposits the money, and you invest it for her?
I am guessing many bank account can’t have a non us owner. I think some brokerages allow non US owners
Have her send it to you in 9000 dollar increments over the next year. Or maybe like venmo?

$19k tax free gift. Legally each fly with another 10k a person. Crypto the other 61k.
Why don’t you crypto the whole thing at that point
Why don’t you just ask a lawyer? Plus you gotta think about doing paperwork to bring your future wife to the US, right? So might as well ask the lawyer all of these questions.
I’m in the same boat. Need to know
Stablecoin transfer
Are you Nigerian?
There is no issue with her gifting you the money. If you receive a gift exceeding $100,000, you will have to report it on a Form 3520 but there is no tax associated with it. The IRS isn’t as concerned with money being transferred from an NRA TO a US person. It is money transferred OUT of the US that would be more problematic.
The question is does she want to gift you the money or does she want it to be her money that OP is investing for her?
Thank you all for the responses - I had a good laugh! My Nigerian princess and I prefer to not use crypto and do everything in a neat way.
I still don’t get the difference between the $100k threshold some of you mentioned and the $15k limit on gifting.
