How do I meet someone in Seattle when I work from home and have the worst luck with dating apps??

Go work from a Starbucks, assuming they allow dining in again. Go work from a local park. Go work from any other location that allows you to play the game. When you do see someone you are physically attracted to, make a move and see what happens. Take a shot. A free throw from the center of the court. Come up with clever ways to do this, like for example: “Hey miss/mister, if you put your finger in my black cold brew, it would be the sweetest cold brew ever made! 😅” It’s cheesy and a tad bit gross but it will make them smile and break the ice. Or something simple like, “What’s the best knock-knock joke you know?” Then follow up with a “Would you care to have a nice conversation while we drink our coffee this morning?” Women and men alike don’t usually get hit on during the daylight and due to covid, they may not get hit on very often at all. Taking initiative will most likely earn you a lot of points. Initiative = Brave. Brave = Hero. Who doesn’t want a hero in their lives?? GL

Maybe consult your friends on your dating profile to see if you can improve it and also be open to making friends if the date doesn’t end in a romantic way. One of my best friends will go on dates knowing it may be more friendship than dating as a way to meet more people. She’s met several hiking pals this way. Plus those friends have friends so it’s a way of casting a wider net

Just recently moved from Seattle, have to say it’s a numbers game. Talk to everyone like your the main character in a video game. If the person seems mildly interesting, strike up a convo. The “Seattle Freeze” is real so it’ll take a while to gather a friend circle but you can do it! Show em that charisma, Tiger!

Dating apps are old skool. Try a wearable sandwich board and walk down main st. Make sure that you mention that you want a serious relationship though, oh and use a pic without a mask.

Are you M or F and how old are you....

I’ve got an offer for a job I think is going to be much more interesting than my current role and significant pay bump. Downside is it’s permanent WFH and I think part of why I’ve got the urge to leave DT is the lack of people connection right now. Worth it?

Was a bitch? My coworker routinely asks me how I am doing, what I’m working on, if everything is ok, joking that I’m starting my week on Wednesday because I’ve been remote for two days, etc etc. I find it distracting and invasive so today I told them to please stop asking questions that put me on the spot. Was I a bitch?

Moving to NYC next year, and my SO is based in Seattle. He is very keen to spend more time with me in NYC, even suggesting living there while remote working is still a thing. I’m a little hesitant bc we’ve only been dating for 2-3 months and it would feel like moving in tgt. Also not sure if i should be looking for a studio or 1br for more space but at a much higher price tag that i have to pay for. Any thoughts?

How are most teachers plan on giving assessments to students who are remote learners? My school is everyday half-day for students (guardians) who chose to be in school. All other students are remote learners every day. That means I had classes with students who are physically there as student to are there through Google meets. I'm just trying to see what other teachers are doing to balance the two types of learners and how give fair assessments.....

Horrible headshots coping mechanisms - lay it on me. The firm decided to schedule new headshots at the worst possible time (WFH 15 I’m struggling to get off, none of my suits fit, my hair girl accidentally took my blonde too dark). Proofs came back and they are godawful - the photographer put me in the most awkward positions, so I look uncomfortable AND like an overstuffed sausage. I want to asinine for reshoots but I’m worried he’s going to make the exact same errors.

Had a referral and HR phone screen for S&O Senior Manager position at a small Chicago based tech start up. Call went well and they asked my salary expectations and I mentioned $180K. If so let’s have another quick call to recalibrate”….what should I say on this call? Should I budge or is this a tactic?
