Be careful with this one. I’d get admin to do it.
i doubt that her grammar will have any effect on the students so I'd let it go. If they ask at some point, you can talk about the differences in dialect- one is more formal to be used in school and one is less formal. they might have family members who speak like that as well.
Unless she is overall an awful long term substitute and unless she asks for help, is under formal training, or under your direct mentorship I'd mind my own business.
She’s moving into that position permanently. She’s getting her alternative certification.
Someone who has a real relationship with her needs to sincerely tell her so she doesn’t look foolish in front of students or parents. Find a friend of hers to assist.
Tell her a few of the kids mentioned it to you and so for consistency sake you need her to grammatically correct and say...
Mention it to the grade level chair and then maybe the grade level chair can talk to her.
Department chair? 🤷♀️ 🤔
Please don’t take this the wrong way. If she is black, have a black teacher to speak with her about it. I am only saying this because of the times we are living in. I know that you’re only trying to help. 😬
Tell her. Straight up. No need to sugar coat or get admin involved.
