As a senior, you really don’t. Best you can do is suggest an alternative like a daily or weekly check in at a set time “because that would be helpful to your workflow” or something.
But I’ll say, managers will naturally stop checking in with you if the work is getting done and they trust you’re moving things along. Focus on being more proactive and communicative and you might fix the issue without any professionaleese email.
Why do the calls last so long? My team has daily AM check in calls where we discuss what we'll be working on for the day, and they are anywhere 5-15 minutes. But people still communicate throughout the day with each other as needed.
Set up a calendar invite to discuss how unnecessary excessive the check ins are. Then set up a follow up calendar invite about action items to prevent unnecessary check ins and then finally set up another follow up call to see if those action items were followed through.
Tell them you have diarrhea and can join if it’s mission critical
"Are these team check-ins a significant value add, especially at this cadence? I'd be happy to connect once a week and schedule one-off sessions when roadblocks arise that should be discussed."
Over-update them to the point where they start to get annoyed and realize they don’t need to check in so frequently. Best way to deal with a micro-manager is to micro-update them

Put it on the calendar and get your work done timely at a high quality to build trust with managers and they’ll chill on the check-ins
Is the entire team included on these calls or is it just one on one? Many staff and interns need the check ins to keep a project moving so it might just be for their benefit.
If you are a second year senior I would recommend having someone else run these calls. That way you don’t have extra prep time and can still respond to other IMs/emails during the calls.

Assert dominance by scheduling even more frequent check-ins. You dare schedule daily check-ins?
No.
Not enough. Schedule one additional check-in each day.
