^what a sad professional world we live in: bright young consultant: that's so cool I wanna do that! Firm: no dumbass either keep doing shitty boring work or sit on the bench before we fire you.

^Jesus please don't ever compare Strategy Consulting to surgery ever ever again.

Also good luck. Probably not going to happen.

You still haven't stated your practice. And you probably don't know much about strategy consulting. And even the practice has low utilization. If you are utilized in your practice why would they send you elsewhere. If you aren't utilized, why would they do you any favors.

Sorry pwc2 have to disagree. An undergrad that has zero experience in an industry charging insanely high dollar amounts claiming to be an expert at something they know nothing about because "it's cool" is not how it works. It would be cool to do surgery IMO. But you have to commit, study, and understand what you are doing before you bill tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. We all want cooler and better experiences, but you have to work for it but it also needs to make sense. That was not the job op was hired to do so why would they pay him or her to do it if it's a loss for the form

From where?

What is customer experience exactly? Is it sales and UI?

Why is that E1

What level. ACP locked it down and stopped them.

I'm a staff

Metaphor not realistic comparison obviously.

So, E1 how do you recommend I go about learning these strategies and skills? I doubt that fresh grads actually have the experience and skills you reference and most likely just got fairly lucky with both the role they applied for as well as the particular schools being targeted.
I'm willing to work internally and network/not steal work from other people actually in the practice but I want to get a taste of what that's like and see if it's something I'd be good at.

@OP - I'm a Staff on a Strategy project right now. I am in a different group and not trying to join Strategy. Neutral opinion. I highly recommend networking and testing the water before trying to make the switch. At the Staff level, whether you like it or not, your rating is based on utilization above all else. Strategy has a fairly large bench compared to other groups. The grass may not be greener...

If you have a burner, I'd be happy to get in touch and talk about the work I'm doing.

I agree with pwc2 haha so right

Yeah I'll get a burner

It's funny when Bollywood made a movie about war hero Gunjan Saxena, they retained her name. But when they made a movie about Mathunny Mathews, the real-life hero of 'Airlift', Akshay's name was whitewashed to a punjabi sounding name.

So why the double standards? Is one type of name considered more Indian than others? Even though we consider all citizens as equal is there an inherent bias ?
