How do I tell my boss during our goal setting meetings that long term im looking to move internal and away from client facing/account roles?

My current role has me playing PM and account manager, and I’m thinking I’d like to move into a dedicated PM or resource management role.

I know i need to make my goals clear so I can move around within the company But i am kind of fearing the worst and I’m worried they won’t want to support me and will instead just be looking to replace me. 😬

Lately, a lot of recruiters have been reaching out. I'm mostly happy in my role and w/my company (no longer w/Edelman), but one job caught my eye with a huge salary and title bump at a comparable company, culture and work wise. Interviews are going well - I'm torn about leaving - things are good now but some extra $$ for what seems like a similar experience seems like a no-brainer. Yet, I feel sad about potentially leaving my current company. Anyone have a similar experience? What happened?

Is moving jobs twice in 2 years a bad look? From 2017-2020 as a tech recruiter I worked at one place, 2020 I worked in house as a TA specialist for 8 months and now I’m about 10 months in to my TA specialist role. I talked to my manager about growth in the company (didn’t ask for a promotion, didn’t say I wanted to move up, all I asked for was about what the next role up from here would be) and she immediately shot me down and told me I wasn’t leaving my responsibilities anytime soon.

I joined a startup a little less than a year ago as Marketing Director. Around three months into the role, I started to experience issues with my payroll. I would receive direct deposits a few days after my expected pay date, but I just assumed the CEO had forgotten to process my deposit in time. As more time passed, the time between my expected payday and actual payday increased and the CEO stopped processing my deposits through the payroll system.
