How do M7 schools perceive startup experience? Currently a senior analyst at Accenture (been here almost 2 years) but thinking bout joining a startup for 60% pay raise before applying for b school next year. Is that gonna hurt or help my case

Starting the interview process at a competitor and the people I will be interviewing with know my current team members just from being in the industry and I think some even used to work together. Does it go without being said that the people I am interviewing with won’t say anything to my current team members or should I be concerned about this?

Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. Stern is way more than a finance school. Given its location, do you want to spend your 2 years in a rural area or heart of Manhattan? Location is almost everything for business school. (I have a friend in Cornell that frequently travels about 5 hours to NYC for events.)
