Hang with the boys. Dinner dates w/ all your “Plan B” women friends. Do all of your favorite things that she hates/ won’t do (e.g. go to restaurants she doesn’t like, hang w/ your single friend that she hates, smoke/drink as much as you like, gamble more than you should.)

Good point, BCG1! Secrets secrets are no fun. Secrets secrets hurt someone.

Hang out with friends, watch senseless action movies, play a game outdoors, eat comfort food and sleep like a king on the bed with feet touching both corners of the bed :)) Also, remember to FaceTime! At least a missed call. Known my wife for 18 years, happily married for 9+ years...blessed and lucky!!

Sleep in the center of the bed.

This is my actual biggest change too.

hike or bike the big routes she can't keep up on that or hookers and fire trucks.

I love word play and never saw that before! for me it's still just fun, crazy and irresponsible, but not actual hookers

The same as normal. I have my own life and she has hers. I go eat, have drinks with friends, do my hobbies, etc. Only difference now is when we chat it's over phone instead of in person. It's just a couple weeks, not really that long.

This makes me sad. I’d like to think my husband can do whatever he likes whether I’m there or not.

Do the honey do list you’ve avoided. Or ask her if there are things she’d like you to do. Otherwise, see a film she wouldn’t want to see.

I am surprised no one mentioned to behave like a gentleman and go to clubs with friends.

Like gentlemen’s clubs?

Honestly...tons of gaming and drinking at home. That way, you stay out of trouble and when the wife asks where are you...the answer is always home...she’ll think you did nothing when you just had a one man party!

As a guy who is not married yet- this post makes me scared of getting married.... sounds like a nightmare

SC2 what you trying to say? These thoughts come in any single person’s mind and they just prepare themselves for marriage. I am just listening here something that majority of human population have already been doing from centuries.

Married to a vegetarian who routinely finds new blogs written by questionable bloggers to trash my diet. When she is gone it is baby back ribs at home time.

What's your NIAT as a percentage of your gross income in a year? My wife and I are looking at ~18% (on $250k of income) while maxing out both of our 401ks. We own a home in the Midwest, have 2 vehicles, and will be making payments on $50k in student loans (once the pause is ended). Having our first child this fall so I'm really over analyzing our finances.
