Whenever people talk about MBB, they always say that it’s easier when recruiting for FT compared to the internship because there are more slots. Is this only true for MBB or most T2/Big4?
Anyone have luck leveraging an offer from another MBB into a counter offer from the firm you’re currently at?
Looking into staying in London after my diplomatic assignment is up, ideally with MBB or a boutique firm at the AP level, preferably TC above £ 220k. Is this a reasonable expectation for someone with 17 yoe and multiple countries/roles? I know comps are lower in the UK then in the US, but surely partners at these firms are still bringing in £500k plus right? Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company
Best case prep resources for MBB? What was your preparation strategy? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company
hey guys, is it against MBB policy for current consultants to offer paid coaching? Is it fireable offense? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company
Anyone thinking about MBB?
Do not mean this as a satire. Genuinely curious. How does the prestige in industry works for management consulting? I am thinking 1. MBB 2. Deloitte and Strategy& 3. Big 3/OW/BAH/ZS Correct?
Dear all, Could you please help me decide the better of the two schools in Canada: - Rotman School of Management (25k scholarship) - Smith School of Business (50k scholarship) Post MBA goals: Switch from Expert Consulting (Transformation practice) to Generalist/Integrative consulting at MBB I have 5+ yrs work experience at McKinsey & Company across APAC region and my base location is Delhi, India. Thanks in advance! :)
I'm a Deloitte Tech Strategy & Architecture Senior Consultant with a Haas MBA looking to transfer to MBB. I'm up for manager this year and appreciate that if you move over you are expected to reset to first year post-MBA but has anybody been able to negotiate maybe a 2nd year post-MBA or even a manager/PL/EM entry? What specific tech skills are MBB looking for that they would be willing to offer flexibility on starting level. Again this is for the consulting not expert tracks at MBB. Many thanks in advance!
Which firms use a single project staffing model aside from MBB? Not interested in B4. LEK - Single ZS - Single Clearview - Single? Putnam- Double Trinity - .... OW - .... Clarion - ... IQVIA - ... BBLS - ...
I have an offer for McKinsey EM - currently at T2 - when I gave notice my firm offered instant Director (I was 1 yr away). They are pushing hard and basically badmouthing McK scandals etc, raising integration risks with existing McK consultants - will be seen as outsider etc. any thoughts? There is a risk but in my view worst case I’m there for 2yrs then can decide next step with a great brand on CV. Comp isn’t that important to me ultimately we will all do well in the long run. Cheers
Hi Everyone. I’m currently a 3rd yr med student planning to break into consulting at MBB after I get my MD. I have the opportunity to attend Kellogg in between my 3rd and 4th year on my dime but would prefer to go straight into consulting and consider the MBA further down the road. Any advice on going to business school now vs later? And is there anybody at MBB willing to give a referral? McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
How do MBB compare in terms of support, e.g., research support, well-organized resources, e.g., fresh industry reports, past proposals, etc., graphics support, etc.? Will it be valid to assume that McKinsey and BCG are equivalent and Bain is lagging behind due to size?
Do all equity Partners at MBB get health insurance for life? BCG arguably has the best plan and it’s quite a perk to stay on the hamster wheel
In what types of exit opps does MBB truly excel over Big4 strategy? Guessing VC/PE but anything else?
(28y white male) If/when MBB asks for GRE/GMAT scores after someone has gone through B School, what do they look for? I’m choosing LBS, most likely to pursue entrepreneurship (previously made Forbes 30u30 for a startup), but I like to create options for myself. For MBB it seems they like GMAT of 700+. I thought my GRE of 324 was decent (higher than Wharton’s average of 322 last year), but the ETS converted score was only 680 gmat. This seems weird. Should I retake GRE or GMAT while I’m fresh?
Is it any easier to get an offer from MBB as an undergrad intern rather than a full time (out of UG) hire?
My job was affected by COVID. I’m have a T20 MBA, closing in on two final round interviews one for a well know pharma consulting firm and the other for F 500 healthcare company as a regional ops director. I like both companies equally but looking to taking a shot at MBB in the next two years. Any advice?
It seems that a significant majority of MBA applicants coming from consulting are coming from well-known firms (ex. MBB, Big4, Accenture, Kearney, OW, etc.). I have a little over 1 YOE and plan on applying to M7 schools in 2-3 years, but I’m currently at a boutique firm that is not well-known. Is this disadvantageous (i.e. should I try to move to MBB - this is a goal of mine regardless but could also be post-MBA) or alternatively, how do I try to stand out when coming from a small firm?
Folks who left MBB at the 1 year mark - what did you dislike and has the new job offered what you wanted?

That feeling when you've been texting your manager's work phone instead of mobile and wondering why he hasn't been responding on urgent matters 😅😅
That moment when your client tells the engagement partner of your project that if his son weren't married he would try to set you up with him...
I'm on PTO this whole week, but still have to work because the client MUST have a deliverable a week before they even start their month close.
Traveling or local - What do you prefer?
Has anyone also struggled to get on a project as a new hire? Doing all I can (I think) networking, volunteering, speaking to staffing manager etc but can't seem to get off the bench.
How do you think Accenture's promotion outlook will be this year based on the positive annual performance?
People at the airport: "Thanksgiving is such a busy day to travel." Try Monday morning at ORD (including pre-check) #smh
#honestyhour I have not had sex since I started this insane project a month ago and I legit want to die
PHONE ROOMS. ARE NOT. OFFICES.
Anyone else enjoying this holiday time on the bench?
Happened a few months ago, but the moment you noticed you won't make top status due to a client on the same coast. #nomorefreeskyclub 😭😭😭
