6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

I love strategy, but I have an offer at another agency to move into Account as Group SVP. They want to "customize" the role for my experience, but I'm afraid it will just be on paper and people will expect me to know things I just won't. I can't afford to be fired. Thoughts? Has anyone here worked with a career coach before? I’m thinking that I might need one. I’ve switched jobs every year or year and a half since I graduated in 2015. I get extremely bored at around the one year mark. Right now I’m working at amazing company but I do so much transactional stuff and I’m SO bored. The company is really small so there’s no much else I can do except leave. And I hate the idea of it.

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Has anyone moved significant distance to be close to parents or in-laws? Any regrets or thoughts? Wife and I are in our 30s with one infant and another planned, and currently have no family close by. We both work remote and are considering moving to be closer to family for support.

I got my first flare up of this autoimmune condition 5 days after my first Moderna dose and it’s only gotten worse since (I have been doing treatment). I was doing some research online how covid patients in hospitals got the condition so I wasn’t sure if it would be related to the 2 doses of Moderna vaccine. Just thought I would ask if it happened to anyone else.

My GF is a nurse & a few months ago picked up a contract job (traveling nurse) at a hospital in the south in their ICU. The last 6 weeks have been absolutely brutal for her & every time we FaceTime after one of her shifts it’s like I’m talking to a completely different person. The stories she tells me about her unvaxxed COVID patients she takes care of are horrifying, infuriating & taking a toll on her. How do I respectfully tell her I’ve noticed this change in her and ask her to come back home?
