You should ask this in the main accounting fishbowl. There are lots more people there

Don’t negotiate during the interview, it’s not a good look. Wait until you actually get an offer then negotiate. Having a different offer will not only give you a data point but leverage.

like

Ok thanks !!

Try to have 2+ offers and let them compete each other. Don’t throw your number directly

like

Also can I counter the number or is it just better to have other offers to leverage for negotiating ? Timing is always tricky (Big 4)

I’m confused. I was furloughed from a regional firm, and I’m scared of being laid off. I have an offer from a small cpa firm and an offer from a mid tier firm. My goal has always been to join b4, and I’m going to try when the hiring freeze (HF) is lifted...but what should I do right now? 1. Stay at regional, apply to b4 after HF 2. Take mid tier offer, apply to b4 after HF 3. Take small firm offer, apply to b4 after HF 4. Take mid tier offer, become senior, and then apply to b4 2 years later

I know there isn’t a one size fits all when it comes to mapping your HR journey, but I do have a question, for those in executive HR roles. It seems like most come from the talent acquisition side. I have yet to find one come from the total rewards side. If I’m to take the next step, to get to my goal of being the head of HR, do I need to move towards another area?
