Padmapper is good. I used an @properties agent because it's free and realtors make life so much easier.

like

Use a broker. They are free and makes it so you don't have to do research!

like

@KPMG and EY, if a broker is free, how do they make money?

like

D3, No you don't. You have to pay market price

like

@D3 no I found most of the apartments and condos that I viewed on the apps mentioned in this thread (hotpads, padmapper etc), and the listing price was the same. The realtor just schedules all the walk throughs so that you can see a bunch of units back to back in one day. Much more efficient than trying to schedule with individual owners or leading offices.

Zillow

The apartment people

Apartment finder. Their service is free and they will go above and beyond to find a good place for you.

They charge commission to the selling party

@D2, that makes sense. Do you ultimately pay higher rent due to use of broker?

I found a great place, in my rent range last week with my broker. I am 😍😍😍 with my new apartment.

My understanding is that the realtor gets something like your first months rent from the owner, so it's not a huge hit on them.

http://www.luxurychicagoapartments.com. Used them for the last 6 years to rent my condo. Also used them to find an apartment. Very good.

D4 - that's the company I used to find my broker. They have been great!

Domu, Hotpads, Broker from koenigrubloff.com

I've used a realtor twice and it greatly simplified the entire process. Would definitely recommend going that route

Domu, rad pads, apartment people, Zillow

Broker sounds like the only one I haven't used. How do you find one?

Hello! Any tips on entering mid/big law or in-house upon graduation. Currently, a 3L at a New York school (not top ranked), 3.17 GPA. I do have good work experience working as a state judicial law intern, member of a hybrid SA program between my school and a big-law firm, and currently as an intern working on Smart Contracts and a legal advisor to the company’s CLM team. However, its been difficult to get my foot in the door and am worried its because of grades. Can anyone provide some advice?

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

I currently love my job, the work, the people. The salary is ok but taking into account the work-life balance, it’s great. However, I am currently being poached by another company to set my salary as well as design my position. However, I don’t think the work will be as interesting and I’ll be working more. If you were in my shoes, how much money will make it worth it for you to leave?

Mind if we talk iPhones for a sec? I just upgraded from an 8 to a 12 Mini and I’m having buyer’s remorse. I miss the home button and the upgrades don’t even feel that special, except the speed. Thinking of trading for the 2020 SE (last iPhone with a home button) or even a bigger 11 (more bang for your buck). Anyone else go through this? Also, do you miss the home button or just get used to it? Thanks.

Hi all - could use a little crowdsourced help with an admittedly unusual request. Last year, I did a two month working retreat south mid-jan through mid-March. Would like to do it again, but I am looking for a place with a basketball court (key), pool (key), and ideally near the ocean (nice). Trying to stay at 3-5k per month. Been googling, but does anyone know of anything offhand? Hotel or AirBnB is fine, leaning SoCal or FL, but open to suggestions.

Should I call my parents-in-law out when they say gender stereotyping stuff? Like they always say females are bad at driving, which drives me a bit crazy.

Context: I was born in US, and my hubby was born in China. In his family, it's rude to call parents out on something, so I'm debating weather to do the right thing or fully respect his family culture.

I had an exceptional year and was promoted to SC this year. I just received my salary and bonus for the year 2021 and was happy with the 9% bonus until the letter stated “we have increased the maximum bonus for consultants from 10% to 15%”
This shows that my performance was only 60% of the maximum achievable performance for consultants (9/15)
Should I ask on clarity as to why my exceptional year that got me promoted is only seen as 60% maximum? I had 0 improvement areas in my annual review..
