Talk to your agency comms team. They often lead submissions putting people forward—some are paid, others are not.
I know a lot of people who have submitted themselves. Be your own champion, no one else is gonna look out for you in this chaos.
Keep an eye on Adweek opportunities. Aside from AOTY, Adweek people awards tend to be free and you can self-nominate if you can access the nomination link. Forbes is highly competitive but it is free, and you can also self-nominate. Business Insider used to have a program that was also free. Ad Age, Campaign, The Drum talk to your agency comms team, those cost several hundred dollars. Your chances of winning are slim if your name isn't attached to any campaigns or initiatives that have amassed significant business results or garnered press results.
There are wink-wink deals for coverage that involve tables at awards dinners and tons of follow up from your agency comms person. Coordination of how you are framed including your hiring narrative and the work / client approval to mention the work don’t come cheap.
