Honestly don’t know. Sheer force of will. There were a few busy seasons earlier in my career where I was working 10+ 100 hour weeks in a row. I don’t know how I did it and I never want to do it again.
I was never the smartest person in the room so busting my ass was the way I differentiated.
It’s tough… I’m in SALT-AWM in a big city, and peak busy season is 95+ logged hours, we log off between 1-2:30 (even the last few weekends) for weeks straight. Spring is “better” with 85 hour weeks.
Don’t even want to know the hours managers are hitting
I can’t control other teams. But I’ve called team members above 60 hours for more than two weeks and adjusted their schedules/dealt with project partners to make sure it didn’t continue.
I feel you all. But honestly i don’t think I’ll be hitting 80. 70+ probably but not 80+. What they gonna do? Fire me?!😂
Mm actually not, i get almost perfect reviews. Just not willing to die to work over 80 hrs. But at least a couple of my engagements are supposed to be full time jobs on its own with maybe a smaller project and both teams know scheduler was the one who messed up.
