Depends on how you describe it and how confident you feel about it. I took a 3 year sabbatical to travel, have a baby, then puty nose back to the grind when I got restless. No one questioned it.
I took two years off to go to school and had several offers when I was ready to go back to work. I feel that the culture is shifting to being more accepting of situations based on the individual.
I had a couple of long break between jobs since 2020. No employer has asked about it. Treat the interview like meeting a new person who shares common interests. Many people are zombified by the day to day routine so be sure to show short fused charisma and positivity. If they do ask about the gap, spin the narrative into something positive - like that you used that time to learn a new skill, or was a much needed break to realign healthy mentality, physicality, and relationships. Don’t make it a sob story where you had no control over the situation. All thing work toward good :)
Ah, sorry. I read that as the breaks were ones you took on your own.
It depends on the company. Companies are starting to be more lenient as more and more people don’t have long tenures with one company. The candidates that have 10 years with one company are so few and far between and most companies don’t want to hire a dinosaur anyway lol.
Yes as long as you make your moves make sense. My advice to anyone is try to avoid lateral moves as much as possible.
I agree!
