I sincerely appreciate your offer, however, upon further consideration I've come to determine that this role isn't the right opportunity for me at this time. I am open to exploring other opportunities that may be more mutually beneficial for both "company x" and myself.

Say that you're grateful for the offer, but that you're not interested at the time. This leaves the door open for future conversations, in case your feelings change.

Im on the same boat. Will need to do this tomorrow.

What about when they know you have another offer on the table and choosing the other one instead?

Say "nope"

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

My company is smaller and more laid back in salary/role negotiations. After asking for both, how long would be a good timeline for following up?

I have been interviewed and they asked me expected salary for being in Ireland for senior engineer post how much i should tell then keeping in mind i have a family also.

A recruiter called me to give my job offer and the numbers she gave were so low that I counter offered my number on the phone itself. She said she would try but cannot promise me those numbers. Also where did I get those numbers from ( they were all well within the range )

Potential TikTok offer - negotiating equity

Into the last round of TikTok for non-tech ops role in EU. Yes I know the general narrative of warning of working for TikTok!

The recruiter told me that if successful, the offer may or may not include equity depending on what level of role they offer me. think 2-1 does not include equity, but 2-2 does. Any advice to prepare for this conversation? Especially if I am offered a 2-1 role with no equity as part of the initial offer.

Current TC: $75k 8yoe

Hi y’all! I’m a program manager for a fang company. The company used to be called “F..” if you catch my drift. But im on contract. I found an internal role I’m going to apply for but wanted to see what the salary range truly was for a Strategic Partner Manager? I make 140k if I was full-time and Im really proud of myself cause I negotiated that rate. Looking to continue to fight for my worth when it’s time to negotiate lol. Appreciate the insight!

Job application got leaked to boss so I got an ultimatum: I stay with a fixed term contract or I leave with a 4-month notice. I see no benefit to this contract & find the notice unreasonable.

I appreciate going from uni dropout to Senior Account Manager in 5 years even though I work unpaid overtimes under immense pressure. I explained I was just curious, didn't want to leave & even with a dream offer I would give them at least a month's notice but they wouldn't have it. What should I do?

Hey all, posting this because I can’t find any specific ranges (all are very wide) but I’m currently in the running for a Cybersecurity analyst role.

I know that cybersecurity is in high demand but I’m curious on what should I expect in terms of salary?

For background: recent grad with “concentration” (minor?) in cybersecurity.
3.80+ GPA and currently have ~2yrs exp in data analytics.
Location: TX
Currently have offer for dev job that’s between 60-75k

Should I continue interview?

Whenever you receive an offer, how long do you take / ask for to consider the offer & decide?

I am currently an MBA interning at Microsoft.
I will finish my internship in a couple weeks and will get a return offer.
I'm looking to find out what other MBA grads were offered out there from Microsoft.

I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.

This is absurd. Am I missing some “new way” of doing things? Your take?

What if you just started applying for roles you don’t think you’re qualified for and ask for 2x or 3x your salary just to see what happens? What do you have to lose? I think most of us short ourselves in salary negotiations. Just fake it till you make it.

What is the salary range for an urban planner with 2 years of experience in Houston, TX?

Not a question but very discouraged. I asked for a 20% raise and they came back with “ and all of my years at (won’t disclose yet) I have never seen a 20% increase approved”. I’m thinking well can you ask for fuck sake… ugh so over this.
