In general, big 4 has the worst because they can. Usually goes industry > smaller firm /top 10 > big 4.

I got the same number of PTO days, but the 401k match was better. Company also contributes to my HSA account. Not to mention higher salary, bigger bonus, and less hours

like

Do we get more PTO and holidays?

Think hefty hours even it out

Way better benefits outside of public accounting

What are the specific benefits people have gotten?

Max 550 ER contribution to HSA, more generous 401k match, abt the same PTO days. What i like the most is that everyone in the company can send you a reward for your service or bday/work anniversary; you can cash those rewards to gift card or PTO. I feel way more appreciated here than in EY

Took a base pay cut initially to leave B4 but the bonuses made up for it. Industry benefits were better, too. Although in B4 you can get a pension which is unheard of nowadays.

Currently an A3 in audit. My team communicated to me that they’re pushing for me to get mid-year promo (Jan 2022) but I’m also interested in leaving to another Big 4 for AAS as an S1. Current salary is $73.6k and am unsure of how much I should be going for to make the jump worth it. I know EY FAAS offered a friend $85k in my market but assuming I get mid year promo I’m not so sure the salary bump would be significant enough. How much room for negotiation is there with Big 4 experienced hires?

Second year Consultant who came from a benefits broker. I feel like I am very much still learning the ropes of consulting. Was asked to help on a deck for proposal work for something I have no background/knowledge in. Told by the partner that I wouldn’t be creating content just story boarding and managing and organizing in the deck. The manager, familiar with the proposed solution, however seems to be annoyed with me that I didn’t create content. Not sure what to make of this?

Ex-Consulant here that now works for a big name Real Estate Investment Trust. Saw on LinkedIn that EY has an America’s REIT Leader. Didn’t know that much attention was paid to the REIT space. Are there really consulting teams dedicated to the REIT space in the Big 4? Love working for a REIT and would love to jump back to consulting if there were teams dedicated to the industry. Total compensation will be just other 90k this year. Any tips for making sure I stay on the FIRE PATH?
