How do the pension schemes for partners/principals compare across the B4? At Deloitte, until a few years ago, it was 1% of high five per year up to 25 years. Now, I believe the partners have to contribute 50% of the 1% per year, so the benefit is more like .5% per year.

I’ve always treated pensions at B4 like whole life insurance. They are taking some of what you made that year and asking you to invest in a future state. It is attractive in concept and over time will stop you from up and leaving. But there is no guarantee it won’t change (as it is all over the place) and I prefer to get my money now and invest it wherever I want, not in a long term relationship that may significantly change and make me feel locked in.

Too young to worry about that at this point

EY until 2017, 2.5% of average of the highest 3 years upto 400k for the remainder of your life and 10 years of survivor benefits. Talk about golden handcuffs.

Now it’s a set amount based on your age plus 4% interest every year, I believe.

Can I live on it? Let me roam free...

1.25% of each of the 20 highest contiguous years adjusted for inflation added together.

The multiplier is the inflation factor. And, it’s a discount if you begin to draw (retire) after vesting and before age 55.

I made the assumption that the question was what the max was.

3 years ago I asked for a compensation review/raise, went through what felt like a ridiculous 8 MONTH long process of defending why it was warranted, only to be told no. 3 months ago I asked again and it has gone nowhere. I should add that salary bands are kept secret and I have no clue what the range for my position is. There are a decent amount of benefits in my position, the biggest being WLB, which is what has kept me here for so long. But I’m getting frustrated. What would you do?

Hello all!

I’m a MSN, RN with 7 years of critical care nursing experience (ICU/PACU). Prior to becoming a nurse, I was a Medical Service Corps officer in the US Army for 8 years. I have my BSN/MSN and a non-nursing MA.
I’m interested in shifting gears to healthcare consulting. I’ve heard great things about Chartis and would love to hear more, specifically with regards to nurses making the jump. Can anyone offer insight or any other consulting firm they recommend?
Thank you in advance!

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

I moved back in with my parents in August, and my mom and stepfather have demanded monthly rent. They are in no way poor at this moment in time, and in my opinion it’s f*cked up to demand your child pay rent. I bought a VR headset a couple weeks back and my mom increased the rent because “I can afford it.” Is this normal? I honestly feel used. Fwiw I’ve worked since I was 13, and hustled my entire life.

I feel a little crazy saying this, but more money at this point doesn’t resonate. I see a ton of exit planning and boomerang threads here, but I’d take a 50% pay cut (or a 50% raise) for an exciting role. That’s totally privilege talking, but I just can’t imagine chasing extra money in PE or lateraling just for the money. No virtue signaling here at all.
