Trainings never end. Our job is to take trainings and our side hustle is accounting services.

And there are other 8+ hours of training due in 1mth + independence

Your training consists of being thrown into the raging fire with a wet towel and small bottle of water and told to navigate your way out of it with small droplets of water dropped every now and then by upper management

Outside of your day job, how do you learn the high level technical aspects of salesforce? I’m a functional lead at a big 4 consulting company on a long term project (more strategy and PM work) but want to have better technical understanding. I don’t want to be a tech lead, but enough to have educated conversations with clients (architecture, data model, integrations, privacy, refresh specifics, etc), and potentially work towards Solution Architect. Any advice would be highly appreciated!

Agree or disagree — for a B4 tax practice, service line partners are actually more Atkin to middle management and managers are not really “management” in the traditional sense. Ie, we have don’t really have much to say on the strategic direction of our practice.

Advice: Capital one Tech audit vs Big 4 Data
Governance? I work at one of the Big

an offer from Capital one in their cyber

on data analytics reporting side too. I

Governance role in Info Governance

I’m a 3rd year at one of the Big 4 (2020 grad) and have been debating whether it would be wise to lateral to Littler. I want to ultimately be at a v100 law firm with market salary at some point; however, I haven’t had much success with lateraling directly from Big 4 to v100 (Paul Hastings, Morgan Lewis, etc.). Any thoughts on sticking it out until an opportunity arises or lateral to Littler in the interim.

We educate people on basic to higher level of financials such as saving, investing, government registered accounts, etc. Highly recommended to everyone; you’ll gain valuable knowledge and opportunity to ask questions. I need some strategies! When I introduce a text I use choral reading and whisper reading to guarantee students actually read the text. After an initial read, we go back and annotate to understand the text better. However, I feel like I do all the work. The class doesn’t seem to be thinking about the text. There is a lot of yawning. It’s like they are just waiting to write down what I tell them to. How do I get kids to think about what they are reading? How do I get them to do the work?

What do you do with a Staff with ~1 year exp that legit won’t work. For example, you give them a simple task at 10am that should take 3 hours max, they ignore your check-in messages and then ask if they can give it you in the morning. They never ask questions. Morning comes and they still didn’t do it. When they finally do it, it is riddled with errors and clearly shows they didn’t try. Working under tight deadlines, this staff is killing me as I cannot rely on them at all. What would you do?

Bit of background: I recently turned 25, have been an auditor now for 4 years (same firm from intern to staff to senior), and have given my firm and my clients 110% of me at all times.
Lately, I’ve been wanting to quit altogether (burning out) and try out a career that has always been more of a “dream”. I can’t be the only one feeling this way so I’m reaching out to my people - is this just a weird quarter-life crisis or is it actually valid & reasonable?
