How do those of you working as independent contractors land projects? I've just gone through agencies so far, doing my best to weed out the sketchy/stingy ones. I know of some of the big consulting firm talent boards for contractors, but haven't had any luck with those so far. There aren't a ton of projects on those.

For those of you with kids, I am looking to travel with my wife and son (who’ll be 2.5 years old at the time of travel) to either Greece or Italy - any suggestions on which one to do? How to pivot from med devices to tech?


I’ve spent the last 6 years of my career working in the medical device industry as a systems engineer. I’ve ultimately grown a bit bored at my current role and want to pivot into more of a tech role. I have experience with requirement development, hw/sw/alg integration and testing for medical instrumentation. Usability evaluation, and regulatory compliance testing.
