You’re better when you’re able to manipulate the client and opposing counsel into doing what you want. Comes with practice. There’s no one size fits all solution. You need to be gathering different strategies for your tool chest and learning when to deploy each.

We’re an international company with generous PTO. In the UK, we have a PTO Lump Sum bank. In the US, we’re stuck on accrual due to risk of not being able to recoup @ termination. I take issue with this as it shows lack of employee trust and asks for under the table PTO deals between managers & employees.

Does anyone have any color on Bain Capital's WFH policy? Also, is the firm friendly towards analysts/associates exiting to HFs, or do analysts/associates recruit for those roles in secrecy? If anyone has any insight from another MF, that would be appreciated.

I am a paralegal with 7 YOE (mixture of workers comp defense, personal injury, and now working in the litigation department in-house for a mortgage company). I have a BS in Legal Studies and am considering obtaining my MBA.

Anyone pivot from the legal world into something else using an MBA? I just feel like I’ve hit a ceiling and won’t ever make the money I would like to.

I’m thinking maybe risk, compliance, or HR, although none of these things necessarily appeal to me.

I am h1b and planning to register for an LLC. Since I am not actively involved, I outsourced all works.

I am expecting this product to generate revenue in 1-2 years. I want to work full-time in my own company, once it starts generating 20-30k monthly revenue.

My wife is dependent on me, she is working on EAD and I don't want to disturb her career.

What are the choices I have?

Here is what I have thoughts

1) apply for Entrepreneur Parole and work full-time on my startup.

I want to do ECVC work with tech co’s and one day exit to a VC firm or pre-IPO co. I have offers in SF and NYC for top tier law firms in this practice. What city is better long term career-wise?

Initially, I figured SF was the better city because of proximity to the Valley, but I’ve been hearing a lot about the migration of tech and VC to NYC (and globally, in general). On a personal level, both cities are great options for me.

3rd year attorney. Billing 2100 plus a year. Anyone else just get burnt to a point where you just can’t motivate yourself for weeks straight? I feel like I’ve hit that wall. But yet, we make good money and are in a well-established and trusted profession, so I feel like a whiner. Thx for listening
