How do y’all deal with insomnia? I can’t turn my brain off when it’s finally time to sleep.

I suggest turning the TV on to a show that you have watched a million times before-you want something that will entertain you enough to get your mind off work and your to do list but not keep you up wondering what happens next. You can then use the sleep timer on your remote to turn off the TV after 30 mins or so. I used to struggle to turn my brain off and this helps me a ton.

I listen to sleep meditation for deep sleeping, guided sleep meditation, sleep music - on YouTube, it has helped with my hyper active brain and overthinking issues during bedtime. You may have to listen to a few to find out what suits you best.

Apart from this, lavender mists on pillow has been helpful as well.

Started using white noise for my kids and now it really helps me sleep. I also read an easy book before bed

For me, it’s anxiety related. I’m a single mom so if things get hard, I am thrown off. This week my mom has been arriving at 6:30am and getting my daughter up, cleaning my apartment a little bit. It has changed my sleep health tremendously bc I feel calmer in my home, and have less scrambling in the morning.

I say also pair up another approach listed here with an emotional response. Talk therapy, getting a lunch with friends, an event out, spa day, get house help or whatever YOU NEED for feeling better in your environment

Any moms who really badly wanted a girl but ended up with a boy(s)? How do you feel now? Do you still want a girl? Would you try again? Does it matter really, or was it just in your head?

Had a difficult relationship with my mom growing up, so always wanted that closeness with my future daughter. FTM having a boy and a little disappointed, but feeling guilty for that too. Difficult pregnancy so likely won't have another. But I want a girl. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Please no woke left gender drama responses. Thanks.

Not sure what the best path forward is but just got out of a week of in person meetings- did not want to go but was told that it would be a bad look to not go (I operate somewhat outside of my business group) by my mgr and mgr said it was important for us to meet for us to feel more comfortable working together. I then go and mgr avoids me the entire time (after requests to meet and level set on priorities). Do I address head on? It felt physically uncomfortable to be around this person.

I have an extremely difficult 2.5 year old boy. I know this is a difficult toddler age altogether but I think I’m experiencing way worse. There are frequent tantrums in public settings and it’s very embarrassing. We can’t do anything. He’s in daycare and apparently he thrives, so we just don’t get it. Should we wait it out or consult a behavior therapist?

Need advice, my brother and his wife have a three month old and aren't the most cautious parents with my nephew. Yesterday, my SIL was giving him a bath and just left him in the tub on the counter to go run upstairs for something. Granted, the water came up to his chest and his head was angled out of the tub, bit still. Also, they leave him on the couch and walk away. I'm worried that when he starts rolling over he'll fall off because they will have developed this bad habit...

She cannot pull herself up well and if she is on her back she doesn't know how to get herself up. She can roll over no issues. How can I help her? We do exercises to help her learn to pull herself up and roll her to the side to teach her how to move from back to sitting. I'm not sure how to help her. Ftm here. Anxiety!!!

Just need to vent. MIL came over for dinner tonight. Our youngest was fussing so she put her up. She wouldn't stop crying so I went up there...well no wonder, you have her light on! So I turn it off and play it off as a let's see if this will help. She calmed down and all was well. Then, she started fussing again so MIL went back up...and turned the light on. Didn't take her out of the crib or anything, just turned the light on and patted her back. Turn the damn light off and keep it off.
