Anxiety works wonders for me.
Yeeeep. I’ve had so much work to do lately, I can easily work til 2am and be back on my computer by 7am.
Walking desk, quick/short walks outside, tea, sugary snacks (not ideal or healthy but effective when it’s too late in the day for caffeine), generally trying to always get 8 hours of sleep at night, even (especially) on weekends
oh yes. I am saving money to get a walking desk w treadmill under. You will feel the need once past mid 30s tbh lol!
Caffeine gave me no focus. Just the inability to sleep at night in return if one hour of energy. Now that I completely eliminated it, I sleep better and focus better throughout the day. Oh and I take Adderall now.
I started taking a b vitamin (nature's bounty "super b-complex" if you want the exact one, as it as other good stuff in it) and d3 supplements and being more conscious about how much sleep I get. Cut my caffeine intake by 2/3rds as a result and am much happier!
Note I also started getting back into a regular gym routine, which has historically also helped my energy levels.
I do push-ups next to my desk either at home or at my cubicle to boost my energy levels, plus I make myself get at least 20 minutes of sunlight during the workday. I usually have 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning, and after that I’m good.
Water. Lots and lots of water. I fill a bottle halfway, tilt on side, freeze. When it’s frozen solid, add a little water to start thawing. Between running to fridge and bathroom, WFH doesn’t mean missing activity steps.
Chief
I get a good night sleep every night.
But if tired during the day a brisk outdoor walk or do a 10-15min “workout” between meetings to get your blood flowing. (Just Bodyweight stuff) .
Get some sun / long walks during my break. Light exercise in the morning.
Ginger shots! Kick in the face without the caffeine hit in the morning.
I drink Nuun and it is fantastic. I feel like caffeine was making me jittery and I couldn't focus.
Drink all the water... I used to drink 3+ cups a day yet barely made my water goal. Now I'm down to less than half a cup and 50% over my water goal by being more intentional about it. Still need to get better about standing during the day but the short walks to bathroom help :D
I cut out caffeine in March of this year and it's one of the best things I've ever done. If you need encouragement, read the book, Caffeine Blues, which covers how caffeine affects the body, mind, and emotions.
Avoid carbs for lunch and if you can fit in a walk after do it.
You can also start an in office exercise routine. For the first week do 30 seconds of something that gets you breathing hard. Can be air squats, push-ups, pull-ups, mountain climbers...whatever. Time it for before fatigue generally sets in.
On week 2 you do 30 seconds 2x a day and on week 3 you do 30 seconds 3x a day. So you're working up to 90 seconds...very manageable.
This is going to increase your energy levels and the improved circulation is going to help you think better.
Dont fight the caffeine just accept it
Lol just one a day 🙃
I get 8 hours sleep, I also keep juiced fruits on hand and never need a nap or get tired!
Protein shake and mio energy in a big water bottle when I hit my afternoon slump. I don’t add a ton of mio but it gives me a little boost and the protein/ hydration combo keeps me going til dinner
Dhea supplements help with focus so I don't feel like I'm missing out on caffeine.
Exercise
Fasting helps with that
