I had a phone screening for a position that requires a series 7, 9, 10, 24, and 63. I am qualified for the position but will need to obtain 3 of those licenses. The recruiter told me the high range for the salary band is 64k.. this seems super low for this type of position. I told her I was looking for 80k at a minimum. She said she’d put the notes in and would like me to move on to next step. What is the likelihood they’ll give me the 80? Why would she push me through knowing I want 16k more?

My fiancee and I have 250k saved. No debt. Combined salary of ~$300k in NYC. Thinking about buying a condo in Brooklyn/Queens before moving to somewhere else when we have kids. Any advice?

AmLaw200 I interviewed with will likely go with a “more experienced candidate”. I’ve got 8 years and its a staff attorney role so whatever. Partner I met with was rushed from the start like he had already made up his mind. Pissed because they knew from the recruiter that I was a “diverse” candidate and they sent me the Mansfield self-identification survey days before they actually requested an interview.
