I have plans with friends outside of work. Boom. Done. You don’t owe anyone an explanation just go live your life.
I usually go if the drinks are free like if it’s a firm sponsored event or if a partner or director goes and picks up the tab. Otherwise, I’d rather go home and drink what I already have...alone...in the dark...crying
I don’t like the “team-building” aspect. I spend 40-100 hours per week with these same people, no way am I willingly spending more time with them to pretend that we’re strengthening the team
While I totally get where everyone is coming, keep in mind, these are team bonding experiences. Do you need to go every week? Absolutely not. Should you go once in awhile? Probably
Sorry, I’m Jewish and I need to keep Shabbat lol :)
Tell em, Friday is for the boys!
Just say no
No
No?
Depends. If Ive been out of town, chances are extremely low I’m going. If I’m in town and haven’t kilt my self, sure why not.
But If Im not feeling it, I’m just not. Doubt people put much weight into it. If they do, I would question the people I work with
just say no lol. if you have other plans, say so. if not, just be honest and say youre tired.
If you want to join, but Friday’s are a conflict suggest Thursday instead. If you would rather not go, just say you have plans. You can go to the next one
I wish my coworkers were fun. One time we went out for someone’s birthday I got so bored I called my girlfriend to come. She met them we went to a club then she asked to leave because they were so boring
Go for one drink, get a buzz, and leave
Buzzed after one? Light weight! 😆
