Hi Fishes,
How are testing projects in Wipro. I reached out to one of the Wipro employee in LinkedIn and he said that he is facing Hell. More than 9.5 hours/day and also work at weekends. Is this true to all wipro employees or it depends on the project? Wipro Accenture Tata Consultancy Infosys HCL Technologies

How massive is the deployment that you're all hands on deck for testing 9 months out
Need to state you have previous commitments and won't be available to work this weekend.
Are you on my project? Same problem.
Hell naw
Just say no
What're the going to do? Roll you off a shitty project?
Does not care about W/L balance. Basically planning is non-existent and our timeline is slipping. Looks like the next 9 months are going to blow.
Sucks. Really not many ways around it other than to come up with a schedule to be on call with the other teammates (maybe every third week?)
Also- I've been with the firm a few years and I've been under this same MD (last project was also a shitshow- go live got moved like 4x) wondering f if this is the "norm" or if he/she/leadership is the issue. Now my network are these people and I want out. Would like to work under someone else ... feeling stuck because I obviously want to continue on fast track for promo but also think it's important to expand your network.
@pwc1 say no when the majority of the team is doing it? I would say no if I had an event but really just hanging out with friends (which I realize is important as well) but it seems like unless you have an important event they assume you are available. Don't want to seem like I'm not a "team player" 🙄. It's also Memorial Day weekend wtf .. I go back and forth lol
Have a spine. Tell them you have commitments. Shouldn't have to explain yourself.
OP, just tell them that you'd love to help just as you have over previous weekends, but you have commitments this weekend and won't be available.
I bet Deloitte projects don't have this problem...
@OP - get the partner involved. If it is a one off request is probably ok as we all need to pitch in at some point. It sounds like this is a recurring situation and no partner would condone/support that. If the partner does than you are working with the wrong group to start with
