Hi All
Currently I am working at a startup creating sdk and working as Senior SDET. I am working with a integration testing with swift with which I could become an ios developer in near future.
I have received offer from Thoughtworks for Quality Analyst. I am just concerned about the work I will do at Thoughtworks. What future I could have there as compared with my current company?

Hire a cleaner. Use Instacart for delivery. Hire a Nanny when you have a kid. These are all things we do - my spouse and I both work big law jobs and this is the only way we can survive. It's close to $45k a year in additional expenses, but the alternative is take a $100k+ pay cut. It really depends on what you want - I would still like more time with kids though.
I struggled and am now going inhouse. Felt the same way especially about the thought of kids which I hated because I want them! I realized life is too short and I don’t want to keep putting things on hold for the billable hour (which I absolutely hated). To maintain until you figure it out, biweekly housekeeper, grocery delivery, and takeout are so helpful. Remember to give yourself grace and rest when you need it.
My SO and I are both attorneys at firms. We use a weekly meal delivery service (home chef) to cut down on grocery trips and meal planning time. We also have a housekeeper come every few weeks to do a full cleaning. We have a financial planner who handles our investments and retirement trajectory and checks in with us on budget categorization. For travel, we started using a travel agent and it has been incredible (and not expensive - they take commission from the hotels etc, with just a small planning fee from us). None of these things are very expensive and we actually save on the meal service when compared eating out or getting take out. We tend to not do anything on evenings or weekends unless it’s on our calendar already, so we pre- plan social activities like weekend getaways, dinner with friends etc. When it is already on the calendar we usually don’t cancel and we’re always happy we did it. Can’t help with the kids convo because we don’t have kids- that’s a whole other thing that I also have no idea how to manage.

This is part of why I decided to go in-house. I have really enjoyed the transition and taking more ownership over various aspects of my life.
As a 1 BL income household (the hubby is a teacher), I can confirm this is a difficult juggle. We have 1 kid and even with a nanny and a maid, it's difficult logistically to get a lot of things done. I meal prep myself and don't outsource that so that kills a lot of my availability on the weekends to do fun things outside of work, cook and errands. Having a spouse in BL would be helpful to have all these other services because there are 2 high incomes, but it's a lot of expenses to throw on just 1 BL income.
