A candidate usually has an 'upper hand' if they dot reveal their expectations in case it is under what they may be willing to pay. Recruiters are typically incentivized to bring someone in at the least possible payout. Some companies (and recruiters) are looking for talent and money isn't much of an issue. They (and these are a rarity) will disclose the pay range upfront, without interrogating you on your current salary and expectations. I had one jerk for a recruiter blacklist me from the company because I didn't play ball with him of telling him my expectations first, despite me telling him exactly the type of role I wanted and market based salary for that type of a role.
I have a product marketing manager interview for Amazon coming up. Super excited. Trying to prep as much as possible. I am new to the tech industry. Any tips are appreciated. My first interview with another PMM is next week. 🤞🏻
