How do you ask out a client contact without breaching independence? Also she’s a contractor that rolls off in December...

I currently lead a team of UX consultants working at an enterprise client. Recently, the consulting company got another enterprise client asking for a single UX resource and I am seriously considering it to diversify my experience. My concern is because this is a one UX resource request, leaving my current leadership position to become an Agile team feeding, UI-producing consultant. What are the questions you ask the client before you switch to another billable project to mitigate such risks?

I feel like I haven’t made great client work in 2 years. Every client either Frankenstein’s a good idea to death or doesnt want to pay for good work.

Hi all, I am really trying to pivot into PM, but I am running into hurdles with my history. I do have several years of project management experience, but no formal certifications. My current employer utilizes Kanban, but we don’t use WIP boards (we basically have to memorize where all our projects are at). We only use a CRM to manage our projects. Not enjoying Cyber at all or learning any skills applicable to other things. Feel like applying out is iffy because I havent done it in two years and wont land well. Is side project to prove worth the only way out?

My first lead that came organically from my brand new firm site was for a huge amount of work my guess is 350 hours. It seemed like client was price shopping, I wanted the work so I low balled them and offered to do the work for $75 an hour. I think the fair rate would have been 100-150. I think I overshot it because right after I gave the quote I was ghosted.

Big4 and Mid tier- All partners have a vesting period and if you leave before that 10 year mark , you dont get those retirement benefits correct? I noted some firms actively push out partners nearing that 10 year period. I have seen it happen.
