Be interested in other people. If you can show legitimate interest in other people and their lives they’ll never think you’re boring
Agree with PwC 6. You’ll also learn from others by doing that, so by becoming more interested you’ll become more interesting!
Meetups.com and find interesting new hobbies. Meet new people.
Volunteer
This actually works. I volunteer teaching kids how to golf and they make me way less serious all the time.
Frankly, I think it’s tough to be cool in the workplace. If you are boring then you are boring, but then if you love AR15s, strip clubs, booze, swinging with your girlfriend among sexy cougars, and Mary Jane, it’s not like you can easily come blazingly open into work about your weekend bender w/the baby boomer devoutly religious partner and straight laced dating her BF since middle school type senior pressing hard for her ring and not get some kind of social or silent professional reprisal. Personally, I’d love to see more of such. Bring your whole self to work. There’s no way we are boring outside of work. Just hiders.
Try so hard drugs.
Hobbies
Become interesting. Do you like stuff? Other people probably like the same stuff. Get into that stuff and find a community that likes that stuff. If you like different kinds of stuff, even better
Agree with PwC4. What do you mean by boring? Maybe you just need to be more natural and don’t suppress yourself. People can tell if you are pretending or less than enthusiastic so there must be something you care about. Let those things show. Can’t tell if you are referring to appearing less boring at work or outside of work but this should apply either way.
Be interested in the people talking to you. Show some genuine interest and ask follow up questions. You must have some hobbies, skills, likes / dislikes? Engage in conversations.
