Anyone here gone from big 4 to MBA to MBB? Any tips? Planning on recruiting for summer internships in the fall but heard “interesting” work experience (I.e., blue chip, IB, engineering) is what gets you an interview, while I have very “uninteresting” work experience coming from big 4. Any insights are much appreciated!!
Went from big 4 advisory to a lower/MM PE Ops role. Is it worth trying for MBB if my near-future goal is to do portfolio ops at larger PE fund? I’m worried my resume doesn’t have strong enough names
I am 23 YO, just graduated undergrad from a non-target school, and am currently working in tech consulting for a B4 firm. My long term goal is to land a technology operations job with a large PE fund. What steps should I be taking now to make this goal more feasible? What types of exposure should I be looking to gain? Also, I wouldn’t mind going back to b school if that’s what it will take to get in the door. Thanks in advance!
Pros and cons of big 4 TAS vs working for firms like D&P, A&M, and FTI? Also any others I happen to be missing
Lots of “deloitte days” and extra days off this year. Do other big 4 do this? It’s been nice to get extra vacation
What's a reasonable salary range for a first year manager at a Big 4, with 15 years of industry experience, an MBA, and CISSP? Working in technology, media, telecommunications segment in San Francisco
What is Big 4 policy on tuition reimbursement?
PWC phone question - started at pwc last month from a non b4 firm. If I order a new phone off the if pwc website, can I switch it with another phone? My current phone is about to die so I was...
Currently considering offers from 2 big 4 firms for entry level audit opportunities. I’m a bit concerned about the burn out that everybody’s talking about in PA. Any advice on how to avoid it or at least minimize the effects?
Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.

How much is each firms CPA bonus? Looking mostly for non big 4, big 4 seem pretty standard
I’m a financial services advisory partner at a non-B4 and now 61. (Was B4 for several years at MD level). Can still go for a few years, but what next? Am losing a little interest in the day-to-day. Ideas welcome
MBBers that made a switch to Big4, what was the reasoning behind it? Vice versa, what have you found different at MBB than at B4? Pros and cons?
Anyone have a link for interview questions for someone interviewing at a mbb firm from big 4 advisory? If you don't have a link posting a question you think I should be prepared for is appreciated
Started in industry two weeks ago. No timesheets, 40 hour work weeks, and 30% more than what I was making previously. We use all B4 for everything, so it’s just managing their work and budgeting. I feel like I have hit the jackpot. Moral of the post: there is none, I just want to brag about how happy I am now 😂
Senior manager went out of her way to screw up my promotion a few months back. Now wants to "catch up". I can't say no without burning the bridge... what to do?
Looking for a mentor and or general guidance to discuss career progression within Human Resources. I currently have 3 years of HR experience and I am looking to tap into another function of HR, specifically compensation and benefits. Third trimester pregnant lady here -- last flight before maternity leave! Jumping for joy 🌟
I’ve been sober about 14 months, and now with things opening up more I’ve been going out to dinner, concerts etc with friends. I’ve been finding it hard to have fun, or not get restless while out. I think a large part of this is maybe I find the company around me boring? and they’re also all drinking. Maybe I just needed to write that out and vent to say, I’m bored! Maybe saying that out loud will help me get out of my comfort zone to find new activities that change my outlook.
2nd year SC in S&O finance, what can I expect for a bonus with a 3 rating? I had 90% utilization and solid reviews. Wonder if it’s worth staying until Sept or to leave for the right opportunity...
Inspired by the q of what firms are doing right, what are firms doing right for first year associates? Midsized firm, fall 2020 start class delayed to Jan 2021 but some started Nov 2020 to help the business group. Covid meant no "welcome to the firm" happy hour, but I think some got a wine gift box and some got nothing. New fall class just started so I hear the fall 2020/Jan 2021 class is feeling salty/forgotten. What have firms done for first years/ideas to make covid class feel welcome?
Has anyone sent out a survey about remote or Covid-19 job burnout/employee well-being that they can possibly share the template questions with me? I found the results for a survey sent out at Deloitte but didn’t have success at looking at some of the questions that were used. Any help would be incredibly appreciated!
Most lucrative & relatively common MBB exits? Is it PE Ops & FAANG roles (in addition to in-house Strategy & Sr Exec roles)?
What would you value more when deciding between jobs (both non-PA) - a company w/ prestige or with work life balance & good benefits. Let’s say same salary and potential for growth. I’m ambitious but also totally burnt out and over public accounting.
Been only scheduling meetings from morning . Like do we honestly charge the clients 500 an hour for a glorified admin job? Am intern could do a lot better than calendar invites.
To the lawyers who got their JD, had a successful law career, then got their MBA: was it worth it? What job did you end up in after your MBA?
I’ve been feeling increasingly unmotivated, burnt out and unfulfilled over the last few months. Last week I got nothing done and I spent most of the weekend in bed, zoning out. This morning I finally reached out to my doctor for a therapist/counselor referral. Feels like there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel
How do you think a swap from MBB to big4 strategy would be viewed? Currently in a flagship office of an MBB and there is basically no strategy. There are 9 miserable cost outs / transformations / PMOs for every 1 borderline strategy case. The staffing lottery in my region means you almost always end up working 75 hours+ on some god forsaken project. Contrast that to what I hear about big 4 strategy: lower hours and more strategy exposure as the crappy projects go to the other MC departments
I was committed to give 1lakh joining bonus in HCL during package discussion with HR but in offer it is not mentioned and I am asking with the HR for the same to revise the offer by including the JB. Whenever I ask them they are saying they will send me the updates offer within EOD but it is not coming. My Joining date is on 27th Oct. please suggest me what can be in this scenario
How soon do transitions happen (involuntarily) at MBBs? I recently joined and am always worried that I’ll be let go. What are the conversations/processes like? [Asking for MBB because I’m also curious about the differences if any between the firms]
