I print and save the judgment orders. One from a particularly gnarly case is still taped to the glass of a framed print hanging in my office two years later...

Generally take some time to rest! But, if it is a big win or deal, I will try and atleast go out for a celebratory lunch, often with whoever worked on the file with me. It is so important to do this every so often!

Take a super long shower and then sleep so hard.

Absolutely nothing better than cleaning the office out of any trace of it. Great feeling

Turn my attention to the other matters that are closing next week while I watch all the senior members of my team log off for the day.

This is a while ago, but we had closing dinners and deal toys handed out to the team, which I have saved over the years. Went out with COVID, but back soon I hope.

Just wondering about how is the WLB in HSBC account of Synechron, Pune? I am reading so much of pros and cons on Glassdoor and here. Some are saying the cons like Hire and fire are a FAKE news.

I have the highest offer in hand from Synechron with HSBC client. Please help me make up my mind whether I should join them or not..?

I have another offer with LTI as well but just a marginal difference in pay, and the Location is Mumbai. Should I choose LTI instead?

Please Help!!

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.

Negotiating a settlement. I’m at $10k, opposing counsel is at $20k. My client won’t go higher than $15k. OC has come down to 17.5k and says his client won’t budge from that. Do I offer 12.5k so we can hopefully meet in the middle at 15k? Is that how the settlement game is played? Seems dumb we can’t just say let’s meet in the middle now and be done with this. (I’m a first year, first time negotiating a settlement on my own and I don’t want to screw this up!)

Which one would you choose?

1) Am100 firm with 1900+ billable hour requirement, very reputable in the region
2) Am200 firm with 1750+ billable hour requirement, less reputable in the region because it’s a satellite office, pays $35k less than option 1
