How do you cope with insomnia? It hasn't been this bad in a long time but it's really giving me issues the past couple of weeks and I got a talking-to at work today because of my performance. Being overtired is also heightening my anxiety.

I conduct a pre-sleep ritual of light stretching. Over time, this has trained my body to get sleepy when going through the sequence.

No caffiene after 3PM. I also wake up at the same time everyday.

My anxiety was causing my insomnia. Treated the anxiety and now I’m sleeping again, which makes my anxiety go down, which makes it easier to sleep. Have you talked with your doc?

Second stretching before bed.

For me not sure if the anxiety causes sleep loss or the sleep loss causes anxiety.

I’ve had the same issues in the past and aromatherapy and massage therapy have been my friend. Also seeing a chiropractor for some new alignment has worked wonders. You’d be amazed as to what is connected where and how it affects our sleep and overall performance.

No caffeine within 10 hours of sleeping and start going asleep within the same hour window nightly. Also workout and get sunlight

I struggled with insomnia due to anxiety during my last few years in the military and still battle with it every so often. What has worked for me is implementing activities that help calm the anxiety. I try to exercise often, eat as healthy as I can, talk to someone (family/friends/whoever) during times of high anxiety/stress, and make meditation a daily habit. There is no magic solution but that does not mean you’re doomed for life. It just means you have to find out what works for you and keep making your health a priority. Not prioritizing my health was negatively affecting my entire life and relationships with my loved ones. It’s absolutely critical that you find what works for you.

I’ll jump on with SM2, medical marijuana has been a godsend for me.
Tinctures or gummies and I sleep like a champ.

Would love to hear if anyone else recently invested in a bike and what your thoughts were after a few months/long term.

Any women here with lean PCOS? I do not ovulate on my own (metformin regulated my periods but I still don’t ovulate) and am moving from three cycles of Clomid/IUI to IVF soon. No other issues have been found other than my PCOS (HSG shows tubes open). Curious about your experiences. And the reason I mentioned lean PCOS is because it seems for others with PCOS part of the fertility path is diet/exercise/weight loss but I am already very tiny.

I had direct contact with a coworker on Wednesday. He called me Wednesday night that he tested positive for Covid. We were both wearing masks, but I accidentally drank from the same water bottle as him, so very direct. I stayed home Thursday & Friday because of this and got the rapid test an hour ago, which came back negative. I am reading contradictory information and am trying to determine if I am in the clear, or if it is possible that getting tested 48 hours post contact was too soon.

Monday Morning rumination: unsolicited advise is criticism.

Much to reflect on with this topic. Last week I was told in a 1:1 with a new contact that I was “too direct”. After some time chewing on the conversation I was struggling to place the emotions I was feeling. Turns out I was feeling guilty and shame for being me, for taking up space. Lesson of the week: unsolicited advice is a criticism of you, a micro aggression of who you are, and being “too much”. What would you do??

My question is - is there good money in it? Work culture and satisfaction are important yes but I have a family and goals and money is definitely a motivator. Is project management a good route?
