My shop got back to the office and whenever we have a client/vendor call and they are all still remote I feel so embarrassed to be dialing in from a room full of people. Just make us look like morons.
Hi interested if anyone has personal feedback/insight into "Baker Tilly (US)"? I have an opportunity lined up to interview with a Risk Advisory Partner for a lateral move (and faster promotion to Senior) and it seems their internal employee culture is good on paper. But I'm wanting to see if others have IRL experience with them? My main focuses that I'd like more info on are: Office/Team Culture, Client Management expectations, and Senior/Staff Support
Creatives, do you ever get tired of life being one big group project? Has anybody switched to another department or job where you don’t have to be attached at the hip to your partner?
Hope everyone had a good start of the week! I have a quick question regarding MBB referal. I’ve been working for almost a year at a life sciences consulting firm with a PhD in STEM. Recently I've been considering to move to MBB due to project types, team dynamics, client interaction, etc. I've talked to friends in McKinsey and bcg (former case partners), they are very willing to refer me but they are relative new. And they recommend me to network with partners to get better chance.
What’s the worst reaction you have seen a client have to typos or syntactical errors in work product? Everyone loves to say “typos are all clients see”, “perfection is part of the job” etc. But have you actually experienced really negative client reactions based on typos? Honestly asking. I’m a 5th year and while I’ve definitely seen clients notice typos, the only time I ever saw one mad about it involved a startup founder who was predisposed to complain about everything for discounts
Do you add clients on LinkedIn? When’s the best time to do this in terms of project lifecycle?
How to refuse to not keeping get extended for a shitty project with poor management, difficult client，and things I cannot learn and grow? I am definitely going to leave firm bc of this.
Has anyone started traveling yet? Client’s city has not had an outbreak and I’m slated to travel soon. I’m fairly nervous and refuse to fly so looking at driving 5-6 hours. I also have a young kid and my husband works lengthy hours so I’m pretty apprehensive but don’t feel like I’m at liberty to decline travel.
Which is better: a client that knows exactly what she wants or a client that has no clue?
My manager repeatedly makes jokes about my age to the client (were you even born/ oh it was before your time/ too young to know that). Client is now making jokes as well... Suggestions to reduce it?
Has anyone else noticed that most people in client-facing roles in consulting are attractive?
Looking for the worst project names. I need a list to cross off all the crap. Getting started with Phoenix, North Star... now your turn.
Third year in Technology Strategy with primary experience in project management and process improvement. Looking for opportunities in Operations Strategy or project management in Chicago
When being considered for a project (long term), would you tell the engagement leader about your upcoming maternity leave? Has anyone here been rejected for a role after they communicated about parental leave? What is the right thing to do?
Thoughts on being asked to do a test project post interview? Sr AD with a portfolio to back it up. Responded saying I could do it at my freelance rate, they replied back saying since it's not a "real project" they wouldn't pay for it.
Just choked big time on a huge client call with the full suite of senior officers Happy Monday

Does Cooley offer mid levels equity in their client fund (or whatever investment vehicle the firm operates)? Why isn’t this discussed more often?
Just picked up my first 1983 case and I’m looking for the Bible on litigating 1983 claims. I’m digging my way through case law now to get a general overview of the landscape, but I’m going to want to learn from the best and brightest on this. If it matters, claim will be in the 8th circuit and it relates to a client who caught a rubber bullet with their face. I know the unlawful assembly case law is against us, and it doesn’t appear an actual seizure occurred, so this is going to be tricky.
Been working remote since the beginning of the pandemic. Back in the office in January and trying to finalize childcare. Recruiters connecting with me for new job opportunities. Scared to even consider a shift out of my current company where I may have some flexibility bc I've been there for so long, but they're dragging their feet with giving me a well deserved raise. So unsure what to do. Shift now, or cont to negotiate $ at current job or hit the road and let the childcare figure itself out.
16 weeks, chargeable internal role, fully remote. But the work is BORING and I won't learn anything. Opinions?
PSA: never hire b4 & Accenture mc for anything that is close to strategy work. Just started at T2 strategy firm and it turns out we are cheaper than b4, lols. I would for sure hire t2 instead for better talent.
Reminds me of my train ride commute before Covid.
Agency side creative directors in Los Angeles. What is your salary and how many years experience do you have? Thank you.
The problem with diversity is they focus on a quota rather than changing the culture of marginalized groups in the office. So often people speak over me, take credit for my ideas... and it's accepted.
I’m looking into an M role at Accenture Strategy in their Supply Chain space. Can anyone speak to that practice and expected salary band? Any and all insights appreciated. Thanks.
Hotel room has adjoining door that must be made of tissue paper. I've already barricaded with all the extra pillows but I can still hear everything they say! 😟
Interviewing for a job in industry. In final round and they want me to come in for an interview (different state), but I haven't been given travel arrangement info. They should definitely pay, right?
McKinsey folks - someone referred me for a BA intern role but I’ve applied for a BA role. Will the recruiter team still the referral on my application?
I’m at a Marriott post Starwood acquisition and noticed that they’ve adopted “Make a Green Choice” for 500 points. Given the 1:3 conversion of MR:SPG, shouldn’t they be giving 1500 points?
God. There is one other black person on the project (which is a miracle in itself), however the partners and directors only seem to have capacity to remember one guys name. My name is now Michael.
Last day with the firm! Taking time off before b-school starts. Anything I should do on my last day!?
Are they going to target Visa workers next?
LinkedIn sales strategy and operations associate interview coming up. Does anyone have any insight on the excel/sql assessment? What are the types of questions and what are they testing for?
