Consulting resume poll: Do you structure the work experience section on your resume by (1) rank (to show different responsibilities over time), (2) projects (similar to bios), (3) client work vs internal initiatives, or (4) something else? Context: I’ve been in consulting at the same firm for 8 years. Trying to figure out the best way to structure what I’ve done. I’ve also been in a few different groups to complicate things further🙈
How did you figure out what you wanted to exit into? I haven’t been at any client or on any project I’ve been passionate about. Everything is kind of... fine?
I am going into my second year practicing law. I am at a small litigation firm (I would prefer not to give my location but will say that I am not in a big market). I am curious as to what the norm is re: billable hours. My firm only gives credit for hours actually billed to the client. This seems wrong? If a partner cuts my time… or the client refuses to may for some of my time (even if I DID THE WORK)… that time doesn’t count towards my total billable hours.
Howz the work life balance of a Senior Consultant in tech consulting in a client facing role? Skills: Java 8, Spring Boot. Please do answer with respect to EY India only. Role will be as a tech lead in java development team. Client probably HSBC. Few days left in Notice Period.

Hi all Been working myself up by understanding customers upclose and personal and spending a & with them quietly by observing their verbal & non verbal queues... I have earned a lot of knowledge about customer psychographics... how can I expand this while working remotely for other countries... most of the websites I see have very generalised data and that can lead to a lot of misunderstanding... any help will be great... currently I am trying to understand SME owners in the USA for a client
Hello Fishes, I am working in Accenture for 3 years now in Operations with Microsoft project. My role is Incident Manager. But I am looking for a domain switch and kick start my career as Human Resources. The current role I am in is a management role and requires immense people management skill. I am enjoying the role which made me think about taking opportunity in HR profile. I am in L11 and would love to grow internally in Accenture. Please suggest how to get the opportunity. Thanks🙂
Are you happy being a lawyer? Simple yes or no. No qualified answers like “most of the time.” If it’s a most of the time then yes because no one person likes their job all the time, even people who are living their dream. Now if you want to say no but it might be the area or I’m tired of it that’s good. Explaining why yes or no is okay.
I'm new to agency-has anyone ever gotten in trouble for using too much time on a project? I just wrapped something up and am afraid I might have taken way more than my allotted share of time
FTM my daughter is 10 months and sick - high fever going on day 3 now. My husband and I are tag teaming but baby only wants to nurse and I’ve been working half days. Client is understanding but I feel like I’m falling behind and concerned about how this looks optically. What do you all do? Especially if this will happen over the next few months? We have a nanny share but told the nanny to go be with the other family while our baby was sick since she has a high fever.
I’m the only account for a team to run the same amount of work that a 2-3 people team is assigned to. My boss who was leading my team got promoted and is now leading all teams. I’m happy for her - at the same time she’s been non-responsive, refuses to catch up, and yells at me w/o fact checking. The other day she read a client email incorrectly and mad at me for being a bad account person, when the client actually was saying he forgot to do what she had to do. What should I do? My 3rd month here
Has anyone ever had to be escorted to the bathroom by a client? Didn’t know I was back in school. So awkward. Taking security seriously here
Senior Producers and EPs, do your agencies allow greener producers to shadow you? If so, who pays the travel expenses? Agency or client?
Client is furloughing all consultants for 6 weeks, with less than a day notice. Client is trying to hire me direct - can I pursue without risk of repercussion since not “technically” @ client site ?
Fishes! Any good branding/design agencies north of Los Angeles? SF Valley or Ventura County? Looking for help with a project but struggling to find services locally.
Has anyone tried keto while doing a travel project? I want to try it but worry about lack of proper food
What’s a lowkey way of asking someone on your team if they’re single? (if you have the intent of getting with them at some point after the project is over)
Post for push testing
My company is now displaying!
Where is a new build???
But once again not posting
Maybe we should implement something like automatic posts refresh? I got a notification about "someone like mypost" but it isn't displaying at the post title...
How does this sound?
Post for likes! 😤
Can the gay consultants please raise their hands
For my coloradans, what next car should I buy that can hopefully last me 200-300k miles, and our winters (especially I-70)?
Looking to reach out to a partner about potential project opportunities. What is a polite/eloquent way to say that you’ll be on the bench soon and are looking to get staffed on one of their projects?
A survey on the most prestigious consulting firms, interesting thread for this community! http://onforb.es/1M1R5s6 Good to see Deloitte crack the top 5 👍.
In industry, do you feel like you have more time to get your work done vs. constant meetings?
Friday Discussion: In your emails, do you rank your “To” and “Cc” fields by seniority? Why or why not?
When is the RECESSION?
Booked a room under another company’s rate and got an email a few days before from “Rooms Control” telling me that I need to have proof of current employment available at check-in. Is Marriott starting to crack down on rate codes or was this just circumstantial? Been doing this for years without issue.
