Running my first client meeting today with MD in tow and already delivering bad news to the client... how do you prepare and deal with the stress
Goddamn, I don't want to compromise my integrity but my engagement manager and my manager are pressuring me to eat billable hours because we're over budget and we don't want to anger the client. Fts.
I was rejected at Netflix right after passing the recruiter screening. The reason given is that they're looking for someone who has worked on longer-term projects. I worked on my last project for 2 years and have a 6 year project on my resume as well. I guess they don't like that I've been an independent consultant for the last four years and was on 4 projects during that time. Has anyone else encountered this kind of bias against independents working on shorter-term projects?
East coast senior manager here - Is it okay to text my staff consultants at 11pm PST since I cant remember to read my emails? Also, when I lie to the client, is it okay to then blame my team, or would that get me in trouble?
Anyone here know a book agent or publisher for children books? I'd like to interview for my masters project. Let me know!
I love when people quit for a better buyside role and you can see the jealousy in everyone's eyes - especially the older people who know they have to treat them as a client now.
What do you do if you’re feeling burnt out? I’m not working that hard anymore on my current project, I just don’t find any satisfaction, interest, or challenge in the work. I’ve been staffed on the project for almost a year. Recently I’ve really struggled to find day to day motivation and I still have to hang on another month before roll off.
I feel like every dude I've followed in advertising has one solid client (or less) and then just up and starts an agency. Where are the women starting shops that I don't know about?
Usually I feel excited to dive into work/research. All of my work has shifted to COVID response-related projects and I spend the workday reading sad predictions for the future so client can adapt. 1/2

Looking over a possible career transition from technology consulting (it delivery) at accenture to strategy consulting at Deloitte. What changes should I expect? What is the day in the life of Strategy Consultant at Deloitte. What type of work should i except? How different is it from IT Delivery consulting? For example - instead of writing stories and working on client process what should I expect to be working on mostly now? I’m a L9 at accenture & will be coming in as senior consultant at D
Advise working with a coworker who doesn't "answer the question directly": I just joined a new company and I am starting to work with a coworker but I feel like he tends to deflect my questions all the time and he often gives a vague/BS answer. FOR EXAMPLE, I stepped in reviewing the list of deliverables needed for the project, I provided my input but instead of discussing the actual context, he would just gave me a bunch of historical background information. How do I "cut to the chase"?
Currently interviewing at Appirio; how’s the culture, compensation, WLB, project work, etc? Anyone here works at Appirio?
Anybody know the difference between management v. operations consulting in the fed-gov space? Which one is more project based as opposed to staff-aug?
Hey TSE fam, just successfully completed the sign to close phase of an acquisition. Great relationship built with senior manager as well as client. Client said he is now considering requesting me for the rest of the year for the post close integration. What are the pros and cons of staying? Will it be a positive or negative for when I’m up for promotion to manager next year? Thanks for your advice!
Can we talk about those senior consultants that give you attitude when you propose them to embark in a project (with great follow up opportunities) and refuse because they think it is not fitting with their “career” plan and they want to “manage resources”? How do you deal with that ? TBH: I’m shocked with such attitudes. Which manager never had to work on content tbh?
I am in a weird position and need pieces of advice. I was staffed in a project that I hate and on top on that, found out that an ex manager of mine will be in the team as well. The person was fired from the manager’s job and is currently an analyst like me. I had to quit that first job bcs of his abuse and complained to HR about him. I’ m having very bad anxiety issues out of this whole situation. Spoke to leadership about rolling off the project due to lack of interest but they wouldn’t let me
Trying to get out of consulting and into some sort of project management. Can I do this without taking a pay cut? If yes, anyone willing to review my resume?
Are you requiring vaccine cards?
New parents - how are you balancing work and childcare demands? Please share your tricks!!! It’s been 14 months since our first child and still struggling. Been waking up 4am to get work done, but plans often get derailed with unforeseen circumstances with childcare needs. And not to mention burnout with long days of staying up, for childcare, home and work routines. Context - male here, M, working spouse, 14 month baby, started daycare for few months now, no immediate family support to help.

I am applying for an associate in-house general counsel position in the Midwest, and I am confronted with the age-old question of “desired salary.” What are your suggestions and theories on how to answer?
I’ve often heard of people with mental health issues struggling with personal hygiene. Has anyone done the opposite of that? I shower up to 2 hours a day (2-4 showers), and am obsessive with oral hygiene. Kind of like washing away my feelings of guilt....
gender equality is great and all but god dammit what i wouldn't do to have the first day of my period off from work.
What time do you moms wake up on weekends? Having major guilt about not being up before my son getting stuff done. (Single parent)

Does Big4 hire ACCA individuals from international countries (they will not need visa sponsorship and would be legally authorized to work in USA).
