How do you deal with getting a waiver signed by current client? Pretty junior and have no direct contact with the client. Does it make sense to do it through the main partner on the deal? If so, does it effectively mean I’m giving notice?

You should ask the partner, but maybe ask your conflicts team how the process works so you can sound like a star to partner and have a solution in mind. They could also have an advanced waiver in engagement letter

My issue is that my current firm will find out that I have an offer elsewhere and know that I’m preparing to leave before I officially give notice.

like

Not sure what specifically you are asking, but generally it's not ok to reach out to a client unless the relationship partner or supervising partner tells you it's ok.

like

Are you saying you need the client to sign off on the fact that you have a conflict?

Getting a conflict waiver is definitely an issue where you need to get the partner involved, even if you are the main point of contact for the client.

How do you deal with teammates who don't take initiative or move things forward on a project without being told to do so?

We have a deliverable due on Friday with alot of things to get done before then and seems like no one cares? I ask for status updates and all I get is no, haven't done that, will do it now. Sure enough, ask next day and the response is no, haven't done it yet.

These folks are seniors as well. Partner looks to me to provide a status update, and all I can say is in process.

Hello Fishes,
I am much stressed.. it’s only been 5 months to join Capgemini. I joined in as cyber security consultant with good package.
However, the work I do the tricks, logics and solutions I share with team to apply in the project… all are of no use when discussed with the architect guy. The whole team rely upon the wordings/solutions suggested by him only. It feels like my skill/knowledge and experience is of no use.
I feel like what am I doing here….? Any suggestions please.

I will be released from my current project. I am marked in FAFD. Need some tech mahindra projects referral. Current skill is SAP HCM

Partners or whomever can help me understand about billing and hours. To keep things simple, let’s say you only have one staff to work 1,700 billable hours a year on a $60k salary and you have only one job that and the rate charged to the client is $300/hour and an projected hours budget of 1,700 hours. So ideally you would have revenue of $510k. If the staff takes less time partners make less money and if they take more time partners make more money while the staff keeps the same salary?
