You should ask the partner, but maybe ask your conflicts team how the process works so you can sound like a star to partner and have a solution in mind. They could also have an advanced waiver in engagement letter
My issue is that my current firm will find out that I have an offer elsewhere and know that I’m preparing to leave before I officially give notice.
Not sure what specifically you are asking, but generally it's not ok to reach out to a client unless the relationship partner or supervising partner tells you it's ok.

Are you saying you need the client to sign off on the fact that you have a conflict?
Getting a conflict waiver is definitely an issue where you need to get the partner involved, even if you are the main point of contact for the client.
